Regarding the anime downloads, apparently it's generally not possible to download those from legitimate sources and so such downloads must be warez.

I don't have any expertise in this but another moderator who has an interest in anime said that the downloads the ban was given for are not legitimately available.

The banned person can always appeal in the RC and one of us will look into it for him.

I got the info from my alt account. I'd guess Garry probably reduced it again for server performance reasons. It was 64x64 and 19.4 or 19.8kb. My question is if it's temporary like search or if it's going to be permanent to give more people a reason to buy gold though?

I always see people being banned for even slight hint of warez (a screenshot of a game which is not yet released in posters country for example) even though the rules say that you can post anything without consequences unless you provide links/openly discuss piracy.

I see nothing wrong with that post, they're just having a discussion really. It's the general chat for hardware and software, and as far as I can tell they're discussing Microsoft v Apple, which falls under both hardware and software. Looking back a couple of posts it seems like the protocol7 started the so-called shitstorm by dragging a PM into the thread when he should've just PMed a moderator, and then mattk50 further'd it along by trying to defend his point.

Likewise, all mods moderate all sections, it's just that some mods read certain sections more than others. There is no such thing as a section moderator anymore, and if you have a problem with a post you should really use the report system (or PM a moderator that is online if it's serious).

And this is just my personal opinion, but CIPWTTKT&GC is one of the worst threads on the forum. I'm surprised at some of the stuff people get away with in that thread.

In a lot of threads like that (stgym is another good example) most bannable posts don't get reported unless it's someone trolling the thread. Very rarely have I seen a post in stgym that I reported actually get banned unless I pmed a mod about it.

This guy has been shitposting in the Dutch chat thread from the beginning on.. We report him from time to time for some of the ridiculous posts he makes, few samples why we report him/don't like him:
1) He uses the Dutch chat thread as a blog (For example: Just had a sandwich, it was delicious with cheese!)
2) He keeps using 'Kanker' which means Cancer, someone dads just recently passed away from cancer (He is also a frequent poster in the Dutch chat thread) and this guy just keeps going on saying kanker to everything.
3) Most time when we reply to him about the shitposting he does, he says we need to back off and go back to the 'high quality posting' Nederpunch forum

tl;dr this guy is a pain in the ass, no one likes him and even after being banned for he's misbehavior he still goes on shitting all over the fucking thread
