Although moderators are generally more credible when it comes to answering questions about the forums, you can also look at the ban histories of those who replied to you and consider their input as an answer.

For example, TehWhale is an alt of a permabanned user, has been banned multiple times for "trolling" and "unhelpful - why reply?", and BreenIsALie has only been banned for warez. So although TehWhale does tell the truth (and is helpful when it comes to webDev), he's less credible than Breen in this instance. However if somebody has a long ban history of trolling, they could have turned a new leaf, be a different person since then, and thus be telling the truth. But seeing as this is only a yes or no question, and they both gave conflicting answers, wouldn't it make sense to go with Breen's answer on this one?

(Hint: Breen's is the correct answer.)

Heres a list of what you [I]actually[/I] get as a goldmember;
- Gold name
- 'Gold member' title if you haven't bought one before
- Acces to the GMF forum, which has a couple of subfora incluiding OIFY
- Bigger avatar (80x80, 102.4kb) and the ability to have a .gif as avatar (same dimensions and filesize)
- Access to the refugee camp, but you cannot post there.
- Access to the search function (until it is restored unless garry notices the goldmember exclusivity boosts goldmember sales)
- Ability to delete your own posts and lock your own threads within the GMF forum.

And thats about it afaik. No speed bonus!!

just as a note of you get gold and try to post in the oify you'll probably get denied horribly

If a mod didn't already reply and you explained why they were banned or helped them, it was okay.

It depends on a number of things. Iirc you weren't allowed to reply to perma'd users for any reason. If it was a temporary ban then you could quote the post they were banned for and that was about it.

You also couldn't speculate on the reason why someone was banned, and would be perma'd if you posted after a mod had posted. :saddowns:
