Another major problem with his idea has to do with Garry's Mod itself. If some random people come here to make a support thread then they'd have to cough up some cash in order to get help for a product they purchased. Aside from being a big fuck you to members, it would also be a big fuck you to the people who join for garry's mod support.

But really I don't think charging is necessary. Only things that should cost money on a forum are cosmetics like gold membership, titles, and so on. Core functions of a forum shouldn't have to be purchased. It'd probably do the opposite of making the community more "mature" atmosphere wise as you'd only have the people willing to pay to post (read as idiots dumb enough to buy posts on a forum) making the threads. Then you'd probably have a bunch of kiddos just joining the forum using their parents' credit cards to buy posts which would probably more trouble than it's worth for Garry. I just think it's a bad idea overall. Personally if it was ever implemented I'd just go to another forum.

Sorry, but I think it's a very bad idea that would leave this forum abandoned quickly.
90% of the userbase disappears, and the rest of the 10% aren't gonna stick around paying to be on an inactive forum. Few people post, popular threads like Lmao pics go silent, forum effectively is dead within a week.

Why hasn't anyone implemented the option to tell the user they're bumping an old thread? I mean something like after the thread hasn't been posted in for a certain amount of days, it's considered old and a warning comes up to the user warning them that the thread is old, and that posting in it without a good reason will result in a ban.

Because a lot of times threads get bumped an nothing happens, it's like the ToS, nobody actually reads them but not following it will result in an instant ban.
