Hey, I noticed that when our lovely forums were changed around some time ago that the subforums were basically thrown out the window. I am wondering why this has happened. We really needed these subforums in the modeling/mapping section, as now our new releases are downed in a sea of requests. It has gotten to the point where many people who work on models for Gmod no longer bother releasing here (as per [url=http://www.facepunch.com/showthread.php?t=1201421&p=37034442#post37034442]THIS[/url] thread). I'd love it if someone could please explain to me why this has occurred.

the purpose of the modeling subforum has pretty much gone out the window at this point, we get lots of WIPs (all posted in two threads, so the change didn't even result in people making more (quality) threads as Garry said it would) but nobody wants to release them because they think the requests will bog down any quality models. So yeah, we've had the modeling forum in ruins for long enough to say that it's broken without being accused of telling the future. It was ok for a couple of weeks whilst people adjusted, but now we have help threads, release threads and numerous request threads all piled into one. It is a mess.

I'd think at the very least, a release section would be a good idea, otherwise they get drowned out by requests.

garry always makes big changes then gradually tunes them until people stop crying about it not a big deal

I once read somewhere that after five years of being on fp, your membership turns to gold. Is that still applicable? Or is the only way to upgrade to gold buying it?
