It has the potential to be abused though. It should be fixed as soon as possible.

This should only be fixed and banned when people actually abuse it, not when there's mild suspicions that someone, somewhere, in the future, MIGHT abuse it. And even then, it's practically the same as having a big title.

And considering you can stretch it waaaay further than with a title, and without paying or waiting, I wouldn't really call it the same thing.

what about ones like supersnail's? its not page stretching but its still huge

I don't see the problem with having a big avatar unless it's really annoying (too big or stupid content like flashing lights).

In my opinion it should be allowed at sensible sizes, but that's far too hard to enforce in the first place. I get the feeling people are going to get banned regardless of how sensible the size is. Also, I've never seen anyone banned for a pagestretching title. Is that because they gave money, or because someone else bought them the title?

To be honest, I'm waiting until Garry comes in to give his opinion on this. I don't want to change my avatar to something like 110x110 and find out the next day that I'm perma'd.

increase the maximum dimensions for golds to 120x200 and make gold $10. problem solved

I can see gold members getting huge avatars as a privilege or something. Or else everyone will have one, then we have long pages of 5 word posts.
