I'm pretty sure you misunderstood him. After 2 years/2k posts it was lowered to 2 years/1k posts for a few months before it switched to 5 years/100 posts.

Garry lowered it to 1000 posts, a few hundred people got gold instantly, GMF users shit themselves.

Unfortunately I had to buy mine because it switched to 100 posts / 5 years right around the time I was supposed to get it automatically

I couldn't wait till November anyway and I had extra money :suicide:

Personally, I'd say not to bother using the [B]actual[/B] Windows 8 logo and just instead use the new Microsoft logo since it's just a flattened version of what [I]used[/I] to be the windows logo.
