no I was never here when it started but my friend leaked the password to me and it was much better than before

Considering you can get free license keys for 3ds from Autodesk, it could be legitimate. although why they'd download from a torrent rather than a direct download from Autodesk's site I couldn't say.

It's not even a demo. It's the full program just with a limit that you can't sell anything made using it.

That's one of the things I just love Autodesk, free everything for students. That's really setting the standard for the rest of the educational software agendas.
I went to the Adobe CS6 Roadshow and they said thier subscription service was aimed at "people who might not otherwise be able to afford our products". Its like NZD$80 a month, totally not great for the average high school student. Maybe a university one who works.

I've never had a problem with torrents. They're pretty reliable if you get a good torrent with a good seeder to leacher ratio

Not saying that torrents are bad and that all of them are filled with viruses and shit, but I'd rather download from the official website, not that long of a download time anyway.

I always opt for torrents if they are available
Torrents are usually available for linux distros and large open source projects (Eclipse). Other than that I haven't seen them.
