I wonder how ip-bans are gonna work with ipv6
FYI the spammer is Hexag0n, who's doing this in some sort of pathetic "revenge" because he got banned
:v:

Exactly the same?
Is it a bannable offense if someone spam-rates your posts 'dumb'? I usually don't care about ratings but it is quite frankly annoying when some guy rates most of your posts dumb for no apparent reason. Seen it happen to other people too.

I've seen people perma'd for spamming ratings. It happened in February\March in the programming WAYWO thread, garry perma'd @@ for spamming programming kings.

Though banned for spamming one person in particular, I'm not sure. It probably is, just PM a mod about it I guess, or ask here (like you've done).
its only bannable if you use a script

in IPv6 instead of getting an IP allocated to you by your ISP, you get a subnet.
And there's like 2^64 IPs in a subnet

Under the assumption that isps are still as lazy when ipv6 arrives, they will probably still be using dhcp so:
I'd ban the prefix with a wildcard at the end, and the suffix with a wildcard at the beginning. So 2 bans for the price of one.
For example, lets say your Ipv6 is "2001:im:a:faggot:I:love:sucking:dicks"
I would place the following 2 bans
2001:im:a:faggot:*

*:I:love:sucking:dicks
Is there anywhere to post creative writing or writing in general? The only thing I could think of was Creationism Corner, but it looks to be just artwork :/

People post writing there, just not often.
I can't still see how news node and Sensationalist Headlines are still 2 different sectors, couldn't we just have 1 big giant news forum?

News node is just game related news posted by bots. You'll see BBC news posted in there sometimes.
Sensational Headlines is threads created by users with the topic of anything, really.
I don't think a merge would be a good idea since some days a lot of useless news stories get posted by the bots, this will cause the user created threads to bump to page 2.

I can see how that is an issue, but wouldn't it be like better to make the news node a sub forum and make something called news central?
i think one used to be a subforum to the other
i think one used to be a subforum to the other
I know it used to be with general discussion, yeah?
it was In The News Node
news node was inside ITN(what is now SH)

Oh okay, thank you!
FP is doing the whole "let's load half the webpage again" thing again.
I know this sounds hopelessly optimistic when I say this, but is it possible for a system to be implemented that somehow bans people with dynamic ips?
I mean, they'd automatically get banned for being detected with a dynamic ip, but they'd have to make an appeal in the Refugee camp. It'd help stomp out some people like Xgmodfan1998X and his alts.
Because this wouldnt fuck the majority of facepunch in the ass
I do understand there would be a sudden mass banning of users, causing a whole commotion. And would stomp out a lot of potential new members from joining, but I don't think there's any other way to stop people like hexag0n from spamming threads with gore and abortion pictures.
However, I take my views back, the moderator team have been amazing with what happened last evening, and I thank you all.
Removing the possibility of posting images for a few days after joining would stop people from creating a new account after getting banned to keep on spamming images. Of course they could create a batch of accounts, but I think a mod would notice if 5 accounts with gimmick-names were created on the same IP in close succession.

Either that or a minimum of say, 5 posts to be able to post images

this is a bad idea and you should feel bad
"Hey that was a bad idea but everyone already made it clear it was a bad idea but i should pitch in that it was a bad idea nonetheless"
"Hey i was shown the bad points of my idea so i listened to the majority and took it all back"
You know what, I'll just admit defeat. I don't wanna cause an more drama on the idea I quickly came up with.
(S)He was telling everyone to stop commenting on it, not complaining about it.

2 Months ago Lithifold permabanned hexag0n in LMAO Pics v. 99 - Read the OP or get banned with the reason “That cat”
So why are they trying to get 'revenge'? They posted that cat.

before i was banned last week, i could edit/quote posts just fine, now that i'm unbanned, whenever i try to edit a post or reply to someone, it just goes into a constant loading cycle with no signs of a reply field ever coming up
