everything he predicted was garbage he gathered from the previews we already saw of it. Somehow he even fucked up that genji was going to be repentant of something even though the existing lore flat out explains hanzo killed genji over family blood and he fights to seek repentance for the wrongs he did. That's the ENTIRE dynamic between the two of them, repentance and forgiveness
plus the dude made the edit of his video with the real clips as a "fucking told you so" after it came out
Oh.
uhhh
i missed the edit, but he doesn't say it at all in the video roflburger quoted while calling him a hack fraud.
[editline]17th May 2016[/editline]
Also he says it in the video description he took some "comedic liberties", idk where you're getting this "I fucking told you so" from but it seems like you're completely misrepresenting his intentions and getting worked up over nothing. Dude's just making funny videos and, if anything, he was even more on point than he's willing to admit. I can't find a single teaser with a shot of the Hanamura guards other than a very vague storyboard drawing, and none of them show Hanzo and Genji's interaction at the end, or Genji disappearing (I didn't look THAT hard so feel free to correct me here). He got the plot progression exactly right, the character dynamic is literally the only thing he didn't get spot on
I mean the very first thing we saw of this game was an intelligent gorilla with glasses fighting a dude in black robes with two shotguns and a skull for a face.
I don't really see where you're getting, you can have plenty of ridiclous premises with good dialogue like Pixar.
At the end of the day its a good short but after playing SC2 cliche lined campaign's it bugs me more than ever
A few lines were off, alright, but this was miles better than the one with Tracer and Widowmaker.
A few lines were off, alright, but this was miles better than the one with Tracer and Widowmaker.
That one would have been much more bearable if Tracer's voice wasn't so blatantly fake.
people are just salty because it's Blizzard, IDR anyone complaining about lack of narrative in Meet the Pyro
the writing in this is just as good as the TF2 shorts, and why expect Pixar when they've hit the more logical bar?? not to mention the production value is much higher
there was very little to complain about with meet the pyro though? certainly not a lack of narrative. only thing that comes to mind is that they took an obvious route that the community had been theorizing about for years, but even that is still unique in the grand scheme of things
"just as good as the tf2 shorts" is quite the stretch
Instead of making a mediocre TF2 knockoff they could just hire a better writers and make a sick movie.
lol whenever Overwatch gets knocked for "shitty TF2 knockoff" I feel like it's always from bitter TF2 players still clinging to the dead, lime-green hatted corpse of TF2
Idk I really liked the short, it was very disney and I'm all about that sort of thing.

I always thought it was more of a shitty Dreamworks movie knockoff.
cheesiness and good writing are not mutually exclusive
Exactly, you can play into tropes in a witty way or at least be self aware about it, but the Blizzard shorts just feel like they picked the first line that came into their head. You could write a script of this quality in like 10 minutes easily

Sorry you can't come up with literally any better comparison than "shitty tf2 knockoff" when that's about as far from the truth as you can get
Sorry for not liking your "Butts: The Game".
but you didnt say you didn't like it though
you said it was a "mediocre tf2 knockoff"

You literally have not looked at more than 1 image of the game have you?

I agree. They should join the TF2 players that gave up on that dying corpse and join us in pub-stomping with our experience.
Like me.
Still sad about TF2 to this day, played it for eight years.

Everyone says this but I'm not really seeing the Disney in it.

Overwatch is superior to TF2 in it's current state, in every single way.
And you can deal with it.

That's highly subjective.
Hats are awfull yes, but lets not make overwatch out to be THE best thing ever.
Better in every way is kind of pushing it when TF2 still has more game modes, maps, mods and arguably more ways the play a single character since TF2 has so many unlocks and subclasses while being free.
I don't like tf2 how it is either but its a toss up really
The gameplay in Overwatch feels a hell of a lot better and more balanced. Besides TF2 has been out for almost a decade and Overwatch hasn't been released yet so comparing content is kinda silly.
I'm a huge fan of TF2, and I'll probably still play it for a while.
That being said, Overwatch really is a much better game in terms of polish, balance, and feelings of fairness. The heroes are incredibly fun and varied to play!
TF2 still has characters that have more depth and are written better, and will probably continue to have more maps overall, but I personally think Overwatch will probably replace TF2 for a lot of people (at least for a while), and in some ways hope so.
Overwatch has really come at a good time, especially considering how Valve has slowed down development on TF2, and any major updates are unlikely to come until July.

How about you actually try playing the game before making bold statements that show you have no idea what the fuck you're talking about.
TF2 was my MP game for quite some time. Since last year (and probably before that) I played it less and less but it was still the only online game I really returned to. After the Overwatch Beta the couple of doubts I had vanished and I'm ready to switch to Overwatch. The polish is really nice and the hero variety is better than I expected. There are balance issues but I'm sure Blizzard is aware of them and hopefully will fix them on and after release.

Same here but when Quickplay went live, it killed most of the the servers I went to, especially the community I was a regular in.
Playing randoms was not fun and most of the server regulars got bored and move to DOTA2 or other games. Played a tiny bit last year but Overwatch will definitely take it's place since my old TF2 pals are up for some good old teamwork. I will finally put the 2768 hours TF2 to rest for good.
Why does one have to be better? TF2 was great game when it came out and was for a good while afterwords still kinda fun now but Overwatch is kinda its successor in way,
without TF2 Overwatch would not exist. Blizzard has never had a original idea in there life they just refine ideas other people do.
I say there both good because they both give people great experiences and fond memory's and I will remember both fondly in the future.

Here's the legit thing.
It's not the hats, never has been. It's Valve not giving a single shit for TF2 these days anymore. What was once a fun as hell FPS game where I could enter a random server and come out with legit new steam friends, is now a dying game. Where all the enjoyable community servers that give you that bar experience of everyone greeting you when you enter is replaced by Douchy community servers that only play 24/7 2fort or Dustbowl, gimmick servers like VS Saxton Hale and Slender Fortress, and an endless legion of trading servers.
Not to mention a Co-op mode that folks barely talk about anymore. Plus the thing that actually made me finally give up, was TF2's last major updates being crate based. They do a thing like CS:GO now with the colored loot and campaign contracts and shit.
I did the Halloween one, grinded for days to get my crate, opened with a key I bought, and ended up with a shitty comestic that no one would notice.
On that day I sold all the TF2 things I could sell (got a nice $22 out of that), and gave the rest to a trusted mate.
TF2 isn't dead, but it is dying a slow death. I've played the Overwatch stress test back in March, that's when I first tried it. I fell in love. Playing the week long beta confirmed, this is going to be the final nail in TF2's Coffin. A game that feels better to play and more satisfying to play then TF2 Today.
Overwatch where I came in with my tiny ignored Battlenet Friends list, and came out with a dozen new friends!
No it's not about the hats, it's about how TF2 degraded because of a shitty Mannconomy, going F2P, and Valve's overall not giving a shit anymore, that they've been doing in recent times.
Overwatch is where the TF2 players that want to play the TF2 they remembered, are going to go to.

To be fair you could say that about literally anything in life.
Never thought Overwatch would basically become Blizzards largest IP, we may as well start discussing how it'll effect games larger than tf2 now
It's really funny to me when people get mad because a lot of people like something they don't
