We both knew we were so much more than friends, and we'd both been waiting for ages for the other to mention it. So it wasn't exactly a surprise. Same deal when we kissed, it was clearly something we'd both been curious about for a long time. I'm under the impression she liked it too, certainly at the time.
It's a bit of an old "hopeless romantic" situation really.
I think it gets in the way of other relationships. Not even the fact that I like her, but because we're so incredibly close in a platonic sense... it leaves me no desire for that female companionship elsewhere. I find it hard to really connect with other girls because I'm so much more comfortable around her, and other close girl mates. The only thing that's missing is the sexual aspect, which bothers me sometimes but it's not a HUGE deal to me personally.
Basically; I feel no real desire to meet and connect with somebody else because I've already got it... but that's as far as it's gonna go between us. But I'm 22, and I've never had a committed relationship, I feel a sense of pressure that I should really get a girlfriend. I don't think it's that I can't get a girlfriend... I mean, I've got the opportunity for one right now. It's just the aforementioned situation. They're not as cool as she is.

Heh, my first GF and I didn't even [I]hold hands[/I] for 2 months. First kiss wasn't for another 4 months after that. Second base was a couple months after that. It was... a tad sluggish in hindsight.
But honestly I fucking loved it. For some reason holding hands was like... the biggest rush ever for both of us. it was great.

I am so sick of my girlfriend's father. He's such a god damn control freak. Don't get me wrong, he and I get along very well and he really likes me for how well I treat his daughter when I get the chance. He doesn't like us to spend much time together he can't directly supervise. She lives two counties away and I offered three different ways for her to get here because he is busy and then he says oop nevermind, yard sale is cancelled I'll bring her myself. Probably two fucking hours late or he'll worm his way into staying. He and his girlfriend are raging alcoholics it seems, he drove her around drunk the other week and gave the poor girl a nervous breakdown. She was on the phone with me crying for three hours after. Never lets her see her mom or brothers or anyone else for that matter.
