Well? :v:
He hasn't been online since then. :\ I really hope he gets me the information soon, I'd hate to get everyone's submissions and then be unable to upload them.
Too late to join?
I want to be in on this too! Scribble me up!
Is anyone mastering all these, like literal mastering?

Nope, you still have a whole month.
Is anyone mastering all these, like literal mastering?
I would love to master peoples tracks, I currently use reaper but as long as I get all the soundfiles (as .wav preferably) I can master it for people. =)
Oh god, I'm working on two tracks at once that I like very equally and I'm not sure which to send
This sounds like fun :D I'm in.

I'm in an opposite position, I want to make a track (granted, I already have a track that I can use for this) but I don't really have the time to jam anymore now.

Jam in your head. I find that I'm best at this when I'm out somewhere or trying to get to bed. Take note of anything fantastic and try to remember it maybe by writing it down. That is one area where ear training would come in handy. The biggest downside to doing this is that the way music sounds in your head is so much better than what you can do and if you're like me you always come up with long complex passages that you have little hope of remembering.

Oh I am always coming up with stuff in my head, the problem will be recording it. =) I won't have access to my guitar for quite some time so I've been looking into making electronic music, it'll be a challenge too since I have no experience whatsoever with it.
And hell, facepunch needs more electronic music, right? :downs:

Implying electronic music is worse than accoustic?
Anyway, for good electro, EQ and compression is incredibly important. Read up

No, he is implying that there is too much electronic compared to acoustic music in these albums.
i agree
Unfortunately I submitted a electronic track myself and most of the stuff I do is acoustic.
tbh The acoustic to electronic ratio doesn't really matter in my opinion.
It's not like either of them is worse than the other, and both sorts of music are completely listenable.
Besides, there's like a million genres within both anyway.
Sure but acoustic music tend to show off the live musician a bit more, and would reach out to a much bigger crowd. Yes I am saying acoustic music is better, sorry about that.
If anyone wants to collab with me for an acoustic song on the album just send me a PM. I can record bass, keyboards, guitar, program realistic drums and so on, but the idea of the collab would be for you to come up with something and have me fill in the areas you are not able to do. Let's say you can sing and play guitar, but you don't have access to realistic drums or a bass. I could do those parts. I could also do the mixing on it. The submission would go under your name. The idea is to allow people who may not have access to this stuff still put out a song, and I wouldn't mind a bit of diversity. Not at all saying that one type of music is better, but the appeal of these projects is the diversity.
Implying electronic music is worse than accoustic?
It is more a matter that the listener wants and expects a more varied album. You also have to take into consideration that a lot of people on here listen to mostly acoustic music so they want to see a decent amount of acoustic music on there.

Let's avoid going down this road as it doesn't end up well. It's fine to acknowledge that you'd want more acoustic music on the album, but the discussion isn't going to end up well if it turns into acoustic vs. electronic.
Well, I'd love to have someone convince me otherwise.
Anyways, I may need some guitar on a song I make. I just gotta get my studio mic, probably by the end of this week or next week, and then record a song. I'd do piano, vocals and perhaps some bass.
I've submitted my track, not sure if it worked. And it won't let me upload it again, so I think it might have worked.

Yes, that's awesome and all, and impossible to do purely with acoustic instruments. Both of my point still stand though.

Chill, its not like it's a flamewar or anything, just discussion
Also to adress your actual point, like most of mainstream music these days is electronic
And have you seen tiesto. He's the absolute center of his gigs, guitarists are more on the side.

Yes, well that point was mainly directed towards this project. What I mean is if we as facepunch release an album with electronica only nobody is gonna listen to it. You can find electronica anywhere, so why would anyone listen to our album if we're not doing anything unique?

Hey I love electronic music aswell, but I'm more into the industrial and vintage part of electronica.

Also Emmanuel is amazing.

No, I'm just poking fun at it, don't take it as a personal insult.
Yeah, I've been reading up a lot on EQ and compression, so that part I got undercover, now I just need a good program (only got fruity loops currently).

You can do unique stuff within electro. But yeah, let's not continue seeing as this is a really stupid thing to argue
This thread needs more previews

FL Studio from versions 8 and up is easily good enough.
