You can do unique stuff within electro. But yeah, let's not continue seeing as this is a really stupid thing to argue This thread needs more previews [editline]2nd August 2011[/editline] FL Studio from versions 8 and up is easily good enough.
I know you can do alot of stuff with electronica and I'd love to hear some unique stuff from facepunch ! I regret saying that acoustic music is better than electronica, I didn't fully mean that. I just haven't heard that much unique electronica.
FL Studio from versions 8 and up is easily good enough.
Alright, sweet! If I can't come up with anything good I'll just have the song I made earlier be my contribution. =)
I know you can do alot of stuff with electronica and I'd love to hear some unique stuff from facepunch ! I regret saying that acoustic music is better than electronica, I didn't fully mean that. I just haven't heard that much unique electronica.
I think the 'problem' here is that acoustic music has been around for a much longer time than electronic music and have had a much longer period of experimenting, there is just so much more to draw inspiration from and there are just so many more people who play acoustic music over electronic which means the acoustic music-scene gets a lot more new fresh blood etc than electronic. Hell, electronic music 'started' in the 70's whereas acoustic music has been around for pretty much the whole human existance. It's also a lot easier to just get a music software and start doing stuff (usually samples) than it is to get a good acoustic instrument, an amplifier, some way of recording it etc.
Yes, but I'd love to hear some unique electronica from Facepunch, but most of the stuff I hear is really boring. [editline]2nd August 2011[/editline] But I shouldn't be criticising cause I'm not a creative musician myself, quite horrible tbh.
... So can people please upload their submits so we can listen?... This is horrible :suicide:
I'm probably going to have this track as my submission I like whoring out my music
I'm probably going to have this track as my submission I like whoring out my music
That sounds freaking awesome, blues rock all up my brains. Some vocals would be freaking astonishing on that! [editline]2nd August 2011[/editline] What did you use for sample?

[editline]2nd August 2011[/editline] What did you use for sample?
I used this video as a sample I'm really glad you liked the track, personally I'm not too sure on vocals being added but I have never really given it a fair try to write lyrics (or sing said lyrics) so it could work I guess. If you want to give it a go feel free to do so. =)
Write or sing? I would, but I don't have anything to do so yet, perhaps by next week if you haven't submitted the track by then. Something leading, something melodic needs to be added though, while the groove is great and all it is a bit boring, and short. You should try get some vocals going yourself, atleast try and see how it turns out!
Ok guys help me decide. Should I do a strictly eletronic track, a blues improv thingy or a solo with lotsa delay on an orchestral backing track?
Ok guys help me decide. Should I do a strictly eletronic track, a blues improv thingy or a solo with lotsa delay on an orchestral backing track?
Blues improv fuck yeahh
Ok guys help me decide. Should I do a strictly eletronic track, a blues improv thingy or a solo with lotsa delay on an orchestral backing track?
Blues dude. I'd kiss you.
Yes something that I'm still struggling with is making leading melodies, since noone of my friends is having any real vocal skills we've just been making instrumental music, or at least music that can have vocals on top of them. I might give it a try in the future, I would need to buy a microphone then. You can give it a try, both writing and singing. =) I won't upload it for quite some time.
That's what I'm gonna do aswell, I think atleast. [editline]2nd August 2011[/editline]
You can give it a try, both writing and singing. =) I won't upload it for quite some time.
Alrighty, I'll let ya know if I do anything
Ok guys help me decide. You also broke my automerge you careless fool! [editline]2nd August 2011[/editline] and again... :suicide: [editline]2nd August 2011[/editline]
I think you should combine, listen to a lot of blues from the 40's/50's, look to the 70's/80's for orchestral influences and then lay down a fat solo on top of it all.
Oh that would be awesome. Like, BB King style. Inspiration for ya
Let me tell you about automergebreaking
... So can people please upload their submits so we can listen?... This is horrible :suicide:
It's not done yet (obviously)
Blues dude. I'd kiss you.
get kissin'
get kissin'
I was thinking of some old traditional blues, but hey it's not bad. In fact that's some awesome cool bluesrock, really, really good! [editline]2nd August 2011[/editline]
It's not done yet (obviously)
Sounds cool, the background beat is a bit contrasty, but it's nice. It's gonna be hilarious to see the outcome of this album, so much different stuff. Or I hope so atleast.
I was thinking of some old traditional blues, but hey it's not bad. In fact that's some awesome cool bluesrock, really, really good!
Hmmm. Can you give me something to listen to as I'm not really familiar with the genre? Would really help. :v: (i'll steal everything)
Well, I did give you the BB King stuff up there but I dunno, you're familiar with hendrix? In any case don't worry, I'm not disappointed or anything and you should do whatever you wanna do.

I only know some of his more famous songs.
Hmmm. Can you give me something to listen to as I'm not really familiar with the genre? Would really help. :v: (i'll steal everything)
AS mentioned, B.B King should definietly be something you should listen to, Howlin' Wolf is pretty cool too. Muddy waters is something too, Van Morrison has some blues stuff (more folkesy though). If you want more new blues, then Stevie Ray Vaughnan is something you really, really should check out. I also think Willie Dixon is a cool cat who you could draw a lot of inspiration from, these are some of the bigger names (I have probably forgotten to mention a few, blues is also something I sadly don't listen enough too but I really should, since it is a founding stone of rock n roll really).
Well I know Hendrix, but I wouldn't say I'm familiar. I only know some of his more famous songs.
Well anything he does is basically old traditional blues but with newer sounds. You can check that out. He's soloing to a standard blues groove. chord progression for basic blues groove is (if in G) "G C G C G D C G", that's what that song is in, there are different variations on the progression of course used in other songs but yeah. [editline]2nd August 2011[/editline] Oh yes, Muddy Waters is excelent for learning blues on guitar aswell.
Damn guys, thanks. :h: I'll get right to it when I get home tomorrow.
Since I'm an IRL friend of MrJazzy, and we both being blues cats, we could probably make a song for this album, we just gotta come up with a text... But that's no problem, we just need something to make a song about. Also I gotta learn how to solo on a bass guitar, I've tried and I've tried but it never works really good, I never get a flow.
