By more justified, I meant their actions were at least coherent with their (abhorrent) view of morality, whereas torturing people for the sake of torturing them probably isn't the view of people here. Ultimately I think their beliefs are based on fallacies either way, but at least the one is more coherent than the other.

I'm referring to analytical justification, not moral justification. Let's assume that it is true, for the sake of argument, that homosexuality is BAD and we should try to remove it at almost any cost, and beating people works really really well
given those assumptions they are justified in carrying out their actions.
obviously those assumptions are total bullshit and they have no reason to believe them, but at least it's coherent.

The worst I've heard about that place is they have the kids go out and like pick up trash and shit off the side of the road. They also sell old cars that people donate as a fundraiser.
Obviously, not the same place as mentioned in the story but whatever. The story is bullshit.
