Holy shit. This is harsh.
garry I declared my house to be its own nation called Conropia can you change my location to reflect that I don't want to live in this country anymore
How the FUCK is this legal?
How the FUCK is this legal?
WWASP threw a ton of money behind major politicians in Utah to help support favorable legislation. The founder of WWASP is a close friend to Mitt Romney, for instance.
I don't know if this has already been mentioned but I could swear there was a thread on Facepunch a few years back about these sort of schools. Might've even been that Tranquillity Bay one actually, kind of rings a bell... Anyway, I literally just can't understand how anywhere like this could exist with people willing to work there. I know everyone's already said it but I just can't emphasise enough how horrible this stuff sounds.
Ok um... Who posted the link to the thread on the home page?? https://www.facebook.com/home.php?sk=group_129695341421&view=permalink&id=10150246609966422#!/home.php?sk=group_129695341421&view=permalink&id=10150254421966422

Sorry for the godwin, but it's the biggest and most known case of 'brainwashing youth' to fit an ideal, even if the jungen weren't the ones in the concentration camps. It is by no means an isolated case, and from what it sounds like at least some of these camps seem to be tolerable. Imagine any other country doing even half of this, and not for "religious perfection" which seems like it would be a cushion to the base.
oh this'll end well if the pro-WASP people find us. :colbert: not quite, but http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hitler_Youth
Hitler Youth and all his shit dured about 10 years. But American Segregationism ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Racial_segregation ) dured since 1865. And I note: kids had to work too, and sometimes, little black girls were raped. You know, why France invented the "Human Rights" ?

Cross Creek was a vacation in comparison. A lot of staffers where power tripping, some were just looking for a job, and some legitimately wanted to help. They came in all sorts.
I don't want to live in this country anymore
Ok, that is it. To you and everyone else who says that they "do not want to live in this country anymore:" I want to say that you people are weak. I'm sorry, but there is no better word for it. You know why? Because instead of trying to solve the problem you believe it more wise to simply run away from the problem. You know what that does? It makes the problem get worse and worse. If you try to run away from your problems, ninety-nine times out of one hundred it will come back to haunt you. It's like an bacterial infection: if you don't try to stop it, it'll do nothing but spread and spread. This problem is not different in the slightest. Do you believe that if you run away, these camps will just stay in the U.S.? The answer is hell no. They will continue spreading throughout the country, and then across the borders into other countries, and then over their borders, and so on. Don't say it can't happen in your country, because it most certainly can. If you run, you're basically saying that they're ok to do whatever the hell they want, but you simply do not want to be a part of it. Like a bacterial infection, the only way to solve it is to do something about it, like use an antibiotic medicine. So, instead of running away from your problems, hoping they won't follow you, do something about it: call your congressman, organize a protest, or just simply spread the word to whoever you want. Whatever you do, don't just run away, because that, in the long run, won't solve anything. Instead, those poor children will still be in those camps being brainwashed, passively or aggressively, with no hope of anyone ever helping them from their plight. The only way we can make this country as great as some "patriotic" Americans always boast, we all need to do something about the grave injustices that are being done in this country. You know, if people didn't stand up for things like civil, LBGT, animal, and disabled peoples rights, we'd still be living in a country not so socially different from how it was back in the mid 1800s. Remember, all movements start with one person standing up for what they believe. No movement ever started with a person "running away" from their problems.

Wow. That's terrible. It's so horrible to live scared of being who you are.
First the "rapture", now this. These psycho-Christians are making all of us look insane.
Hi folks. I'm not the OP of the story you're talking about, but I've done similar Q&As for Reddit about my experiences with Teen Escort and two WWASP schools. I'm actually doing another Q&A with my mother right now on Reddit, if you guys want to ask some questions, we'd love to have you. Registering for an account with reddit takes all of 15 seconds and doesn't require an email. http://www.reddit.com/r/IAmA/comments/hmd9j/iama_mother_who_had_her_son_escorted_to_two_wwasp/ We also are working to raise awareness about the places using our new Subreddit, /r/TroubledTeens (http://www.reddit.com/r/troubledteens), so feel free to stop by and take a look around.
You're a fucking bro, and you've played Planescape Torment. You get a fucking banana star my friend.
Incase some may or may not have noticed on the original reddit post in the third edit they have suggested that people email CBS 60 minute news or another local news station to raise awareness about this atrocity, please do so if you haven't already; it takes a few minutes for each individual email to be created and sent, yet together the emails may expose the monster lurking behind these so called "schools" and save children throughout the US and in other countries in the world where WWASPs are ruining childhoods. Thank you.
You guys don't seem to understand, this was not state-mandated kidnapping, the parents were genuinely worried about their kids sexuality and signed them up for this. They probably signed a bunch of forms that made the physical and verbal abuse legal. The parents signed them up, you idiots.

Okay, update: My dad is really sorry for what he did and really wants me to forgive him, so I have forgiven him and apologized for fighting myself. My mom, however, was really pissed. She's at work now, so I'm not sure what she'll think of this now. She ends up being mean verbally, while my dad only hurts me physically when he's very mad. She's not prone to forgiving me that easily, so I'm not completely out of the red now :smith: Sorry for turning part of this thread into a "hey let's listen to milkandcooki's problems" thread.

What they do there is NOT legal, and is almost certainly enough to get them shut down if properly exposed. You CANNOT run a service which is designed to care for children in the united states if your techniques constitute abuse and lead to the death of those you are charged to protect. This program is illegal, and the only reason they haven't been shut down yet is because they're making enough money to cover up their trail of slime.
You're a fucking bro, and you've played Planescape Torment. You get a fucking banana star my friend.
Haha, 'preciate it.
The parents signed them up, you idiots.
That makes it better somehow? We're all acutely aware of this. The fact that the parents have the option at all is what's wrong.
Personally, I wouldn't just let some people kidnap me. I've never been arrested (And this is "faux" arresting, am I right?) , but don't the cops have to, as well as saying that you have the right to remain silent, TELL YOU WHAT THE CHARGES ARE? "You are charged with being a homosexual" Right.... and I thought the relatively annoying LGTB posters that have been put up around my school were overkill I don't think being gay is a criminal charge
Stanford prison experiment. Humans take badly to power.
Reading about the Stanford prison experiment and about this (www.ronjoneswriter.com%2Fwave.html&h=3a8b9) both made me uncomfortable with how close to home it hit. There wasn't much room for resistance. Plus, being legal, had I resisted, they would have just gotten me back anyway. There's really no option there. They have people run, but no one ever escapes.
Shit like this makes me want to go to one of those schools. You're going to come into my room in the middle of the night, take me from my home, my friends and everyone I love? That's nice, you're going to regret it. All the shit that's happened to me my fault? How? Oh, you're going to hurt me? People are going to find out. You're going to torture me to death? I'm going to laugh at you as I die, because people will know what you've done. You think you can keep me here? Better think twice. You think you can break me? You're going to hurt yourself trying. You think you've broken everyone else? That may be true, but I'm one hell of a repairman.
bullshit, they'll break you and if you try to resist they'll essentially beat you, can you everyone else cut out this "I WOULD/WILL KILL THEM" bullshit, nobody likes an Internet tough guy
Killing hostile soldiers is completely different from mercilessly slaughtering WWASP agents.
I would say it's worse to kill the hostile soldiers. They are just doing their jobs, they probably don't want to hurt anybody, but they want to protect their country. These WWASP guys are doing some fucked up shit.
It's not like they were out-and-out kidnapped. Their parents signed them up.
Yea actually thats pretty much exactly what happened to them. :frog:
