A gay teen describes her experience at a Utah WWASP brainwashing facility

In all seriousness, someone may have said this, butwe need to spread the word. Facebook, local, hell someone with contacts put it up on radio or TV
Reading things like this makes me so fucking angry. Doubly so when someone tries to hide an atrocity behind "religious beliefs". It's a piss-poor excuse made by subhuman dirt to excuse absolutely intolerable bullshit.
Someone pass me a fucking bat, please.
and yet nothing will ever be done about this. :sigh:
revolution is the american way
Well. Now that we have a nationalized police force. Not really...
Wasn't there a website somewhere that had various stories from these concentration camps? I remember reading quite a lot of such stories.

I remember that site too, but I don't remember the name. I think it was CCS or Cross Creek Survivors or something, but I'm not sure.
Just reposted to my blog. It only gets a couple thousand visitors, but it's the least I can do.
I can't even begin to fathom the levels of rage flowing through my own veins
It absolutely sickens me that this is happening. I remembered reading about Straight, Inc. a few years back, but I figured, "hey, we're in the 21st FUCKING CENTURY, this shit can't possibly still be happening"
This is probably the single most fucked up thing I've heard of in a long-time... it's so fucking bad, I honestly have a hard time believing that they're actually getting away with this
And some of you fuckers are saying they don't deserve to be executed for their crimes... Don't want to get the blood on your hands? Fine, I'll do it gladly
Fucking monsters
I don't think shit like this will ever end, which is a terrible representation of our global humanity. I have some friends who're gay I don't give a shit neither should anyone else on the planet.

I don't have a problem with that maybe you'd like some help?
My mum just joked about sending me to one of these places, Cross Creek specifically. Worst joke 2011.
Holy fuck I've never raged this hard.
I've got a massive urge to go at that camp and free everyone.
I don't have a problem with that maybe you'd like some help?
Absolutely. Let's fucking destroy them
It's common knowledge that Utah is radically Mormon. Hell, many of the state laws conform to Mormon beliefs that would be considered oppressive to the average American. Unfortunately, nothing can be done about this because states are protected under the 10th amendment to do whatever isn't stated in the Constitution. Unless interest groups decide to get involved, nothing will change and homosexuals will continue to be sent there, regardless of how the majority of the nation feels.
Since the article got brought up, I talked to me mum since (I prolly posted under Verdana, I said my mother considered sending me there at one point), and she and I had a nice heart-to-heart talk about why she considered it, and why she didn't (it being a horrible place).
Fully forgave her and now everything is alright. :buddy:
This is so fucked up and wrong, I feel sick knowing I inhabit the same planet as those monsters
It's rare for me to find myself struggling for the words to describe my distaste/loathing for someone or a group of people...
...but I really don't know what to say about this shit
Like I said before, it feels way too fucked up to be actually happening
This reminds me of the doing away of huge mental hospitals in the 80s and 90s. All this shows that institutionalization doesn't really work.
That's one of the main reasons for this thread, to stop the kidnappings and abuse...
Yeah, well, I'm not really too known for my massive empathy.
Besides, wouldn't this stuff stop if all of them were dead? At least for a while.

No... Their deaths would be blamed on the homosexuals and anyone else not conforming to Mormonism thus making more people resort to this extreme and fill in the job spots which were lost from the deaths of the staff...
holy crap man, now i'm shitting bricks

I highly doubt that. Mormons may hold a lot of influence in Utah, but the rest of the country thinks they're all batshit insane.
I'm still trying to figure out how there's not been enough publicity to have these fuckers shut down. I mean, especially after Straight, Inc. You'd think something like *legal* child kidnapping followed by extended periods of extreme abuse/torture/brainwashing would create more of an uproar. At this point, we need to keep getting the word out so that we can create this uproar.
We need to let them (the people running these sick facilities) know that this is UNACCEPTABLE and we WILL NOT allow it.
And, say what you will, call me immature if you'd like, but I think these people deserve to be executed. I honestly believe they deserve to die for what they have done to these children. It is unforgivable.
What the fucking shit, I read the OP a few days ago when it was posted, and now read some pages. I didn't know that there are more of these sick places :smith:

Yeah, I was talking about other Mormons resorting to this extreme, however it is quite unclear from my post, sorry.

Oh, I'm sorry.
Do you think that if the people running the current facilities were "neutralized," more would step up to fill their place? Is this just a small group of people that get off on abusing kids, or is it part of some larger [somewhat-underground] front? I wouldn't be surprised by the latter, but I hope for the former :geno:
Are you are survivor of one of these indoctrination camps?
okay this is kind of turning into a shit thread. anubis isn't really helping by flipping out at random people.

Right, because a mass execution is sooo much more humane than brainwashing. It's lamentable what these people have done, but they are protected by state and Constitutional law until the child turns 18. The only way these places will close is if the state has a change of heart and decides that homosexuality cannot be cured, but rather it must be tolerated.
Quit going insane over what these people have done, it doesn't change the fact of the matter and if you really want to make a difference you would be better off starting or joining a campaign aimed at ending these programs.

This is mormons we're talking about. The ones with money are bat shit insane and there's nothing that can stop them except their own mortality.

Where did I flip out on anyone...? :raise:
Right, because a mass execution is sooo much more humane than brainwashing
They compromised their right to humane and ethical treatment when they set up facilities to kidnap, forcibly imprison, abuse, torture, and in some cases kill children and teenagers.
This isn't about punishment. If I wanted them punished, I'd be here advocating their arrest and imprisonment. No, this is about removing a malicious force from the world. In my eyes, these people do not deserve to inhabit this planet, and the world would be a better place if they ceased to exist. There is no just and fair punishment for the crimes they have committed. There will never be any way for them to make up for the damage they have done, the lives they have destroyed, but killing them would ensure that they will never again have the chance to inflict that evil upon another soul.
Tell me I'm wrong.
It's lamentable what these people have done, but they are protected by state and Constitutional law until the child turns 18.
So fucking what?
The only way these places will close is if the state has a change of heart and decides that homosexuality cannot be cured, but rather it must be tolerated.
Or if we, as a people, realize that the full scope of existence isn't limited by these bullshit societal structures that we wrap around ourselves as a safety blanket. These abstract notions of law and justice are what keeps us docile and obedient, and what allows these sick fucking monsters to do as they please and get away with it.
You're as free as you believe yourself to be. They've taken this to heart, why haven't we?
Quit going insane over what these people have done
Are you telling me that reading through these stories didn't make your blood boil? Are you telling me that reading these firsthand accounts of such horrifying abuse and torture perpetrated against powerless children and teenagers didn't make you want to stand up and take action?
I'm sorry, but joining some stupid fucking campaign isn't my idea of taking action, not when I know that there are still numerous camps open and active, where children are currently being forced to submit to all manner of despicable abuses.
This whole situation is so profoundly sick and twisted that I can't believe I'm being told my response is irrational.
It's lamentable what these people have done, but they are protected by state and Constitutional law until the child turns 18.
I'm not sure where you're getting this idea, but it's false. The US is bound by the Geneva Convention and the Convention on the Rights of the Child to protect both protected citizens, which includes children, and children specifically. Child abuse is not protected by any laws or constitution on the planet.
Never forgive parents.

if i was sent.
Like Morte tried to explain during the IAMA with his mother, most of the parents had no idea what they were actually signing their kids up for. The schools put up an excellent front for visiting parents, making the schools seem less like concentration camps and more like high-end boarding schools.
