I've already sent multiple e-mails to amnesty international about this, no response yet.
That's brilliant idea, I never thought of that, good job. Thanks, Ninel
How the hell to places like that exist? fuck it if I'm bumping this, I just read the OP and it ruined my whole week :smith:
why i didn't need to remember this thread
why i didn't need to remember this thread
Why is it bad to remember this thread? Remembering something like this would help avoid something like it to happen where you live or work or what have you because you know how intrusively bad things like this are, and you can put a stop to it. If anything, you should always remember this thread, because you never know...
This is the last line for me. I'm officially done with any sort of faith. Pathetic, just pathetic. I'll spread this around.
wow that the hell how does this place even exist in a first world country i'm pretty religious myself but i believe this place should be bombed
i'm pretty religious myself but i believe this place should be bombed
I wasn't sure there was a (serious) religion that preached bombings.
I wasn't sure there was a (serious) religion that preached bombings.
yeah you're right, there isn't this is just my feelings lol

Oh my god. Imagine yourself as one of these kids, born and raised by loving parents, then shipped off to some facility far from home. How can people let this shit happen? Children - young children, possible never having seen the best aspects of life - died in these facilities! Some of the people working at the places don't even care enough to call for help immediately. It makes me wonder how parents still send their children to these places with the best of intentions.
I forgot about this thread after ignoring the shit out of it when it was around due to the anger it would probably cause. I still haven't read the OP and I'm fucking pissed at the thought of whats in it.
Reading that death list makes me want to fucking die dear god why hasn't this stopped yet? (Or has it?)
Shortly after I left the program I was raped. I shared what happened with my mother, who then told me, like Cross Creek did, that it was my fault, I asked for it, and that I should have known it would happen. She then proceeded to share her own twisted version of the story with my Cross Creek therapist, who shared it with my group. I was mortified and my self-esteem was completely destroyed by this utter lack of confidentiality and complete betrayal of trust. It has taken me so much time to recover and de-program myself from all of the lies I was fed at Cross Creek. It took me a while to realize just how badly and inappropriately I and others had been treated at this facility. It’s not to say that there were not a few small kernels of wisdom that I can still use from the program, but they came at such a huge cost. My soul feels wounded from the things I saw and experienced at Cross Creek and healing will be a continual process.
As I got to this part I was shocked. When I had read these paragraphs I was simply speechless. Just.. wow. How could anybody justify any of the things that happened in this? How could their parents be so heartless as to let these things happen, and then to simply act as if it was the girl's own fault that she was raped after it? I'm perfectly tolerant with religions and I try not to generalise about the strongly-religious nature of America, but it's the extremists like this that seem to.. well, they seem to just ruin the entire image of it. Being forced into a strongly sexist and racist program entirely out of the blue and against your own will is ludicrous, to think that this even happens in this day and age especially in a first-world country just left me stunned.
this thread needed to be bumped because everybody stopped giving a shit.
How can we tell people about this? Is there some sort of way to let people know whatr the fuck is going on? We have testimonies, from large numbers of people.
I feel sick reading this.
Not kidding, that building is less than 10 minutes away from where I am living. Pass it almost every day. That's scary.
Holy shit does this sound like a concentration camp. How come I never heard of such facilities let alone that they exist. What the fuck, seriously.
That is fucking disgusting. It's shit like this that makes me ashamed to be an American.
I want to assassinate these bastards
In all seriousness this just doesn't seem right and is a little disturbing. What is this the dark ages?
How can we tell people about this? Is there some sort of way to let people know whatr the fuck is going on? We have testimonies, from large numbers of people.
The REAL challenge is making them give a shit. Nobody cares about this.
I'm going to laugh if they try to kidnap someone, but the one being kidnapped fights back and kills someone.
My entire reaction can be summed up as "Seriously, what the hell?" I think that covers everything. Also, "Why the hell?" in relation to things like why I haven't heard of this before, and why there isn't someone actively trying to stop these or something.
I'm going to laugh if they try to kidnap someone, but the one being kidnapped fights back and kills someone.
If parents hire these guys, and their kid manages to seriously injure or kill the person who is trying to take them, do the parents get charged with anything? Some states have laws that say that accomplices in crime are liable for each other's deaths due to the commission of that crime right? Or is that BS?
the way the system is, something like that seems plausible due to how exploitable it is
this makes me fucking sick
The fact that this kind of thing exists in our country is sickening. I wish I lived in different country right now.
The fact that this kind of thing exists in our country is sickening. I wish I lived in different country right now.
these kinds of things and how religion can be FUCKING FOR PROFIT (see scientology, also similar, but more extreme versions of this happened in scientologist facilities but we all know that already) make me want to flee from america as soon as i can
