I honestly don't get how a government website getting hacked really makes a difference, and why the whole government would even care.
It makes them look very, very bad. Especially if they can't get their sites back online in a timely manner.
I hope all goes well man, I hate when the government "Nannies" the Internet, we all have a place and a right of freedom on this Earth.

the funny thing is though they blocked motherless for CP
yet /b/ the mother of all CP is still up
Regardless of the actual effect that this will have, I always find this concept of a collective consciousness facilitated by the internet to be a fascinating philosophical idea. And that's what anonymous effectively is to an extent; each person who joins in with anonymous becomes a part of a sort of larger being that wills based on the collective ideas of thousands.
Philosophy aside, I doubt they'll accomplish much, but I wish anyone partaking in this the best of luck.
Policing the internet never works.

Oh, and anyone who's thinking of participating, but decides that it won't affect them so why bother, keep in mind this famous quote from Martin Niemöller

Lulzsec and Anon are different.
Lulzsec simply does things for attention while Anon is quite serious about what it does, sometimes, too serious.
