I miss it so much.
This is something I don't understand actually. I know people who've said they'd go back if they could, but why exactly? It's only been 10 years since the 90s ended, which is not a long time at all, everything is still here, the music and the games, even those ah-so-amazing cartoons everyone seems to go nuts about. None of that stuff has disappeared, it's simply no longer mainstream.
It was the childhood decade for most people here, but what you'll remember 30-40 years from now is not your childhood, it's the early adulthood (which is way more fun than being a kid anyways). Being a kid in the 90s most probably came to remember the good stuff and forgot it was still everyday life for everyone. Nobody thinks the time they're living in is awesome, but they'll miss it in 10-20 years time, which I guess is my point.
Save your xboxes, ps1s, 2s and 3s etc. and remember the good 'ol 2000s 20 years later when the world is pure shit.
Not really meant for the person I quoted, but I just felt like saying this.
VCR Tapes
I still have like over a hundred VCR tapes.
In West Philidelphia bitch.
That and rugrats, football head, and the black dude with the cone afro.

Also, December 31st 1999. The day I first had alcohol (I was 5 :D) and the day all my parents and a ton of people I had never met partied like tomorrow wouldn't come in a giant ass mansion.
Terrible UI.
It was fucking awesome.
1997-1999.
When every videogame you've bought was enjoyable.
Pulp Fiction
So many awesome reasons, just a few to add:
Half-Life
Counter-Striker
Command and Conquer
Diablo (didn't play it until 2000-2010 age)
Starcraft
and a bunch of other great games. great gaming revolution, much inovation, much style and personality put into the games. N64, SNES, xbox, ps2, awesome cartoons.
Some of the best movies ever made. The bone collector for one. awesome actors such as steven sugal, bruce willis. movies were still movies and not loaded with CGI.
dunno about music, wasn't really into 90s music then. i'm only 19 (almost 20) but i was mainly listening to what my parents were listening to then.
the clothing was awesome. i remember this black jacket i used to wear. has purple and lime, etc. colour added to it. tradition was still tradition. all the awesome holidays were called what they were. going to church, less drugs, just being young and enjoying the change. i heard the economy was awesome. we drove big suvs and go on family trips that didn't cost an arm and a lag to drive. vhs, begining of cds, awesome friends, good times, 1991 ford explorer with cassette tapes. man, 90s were awesome. (born 1990 btw).
people still had value and tradition. since the technology component upgrade most people have turned into mindless trolls, fanatics, whiny gamers, sceptical towards everything....and being ignorant about it.
the 2000-2010 era kinda degraded near the end. there were a bunch of good moments, but for the past 5 years its been nothing but craptastic. :|
Bubble.
MECHWARRIOR, GOTTA ADD MECHWARRIOR and the battletech tv series (sucks there was only like 12 episodes or something.
Goldeneye 007 tournaments. The best shooter-to-decade ever conceived.
I remember missing the 80s and asking about them. The answer I got was "we all asked about the 70s".

70s was the greatest era by the way
Power Rangers.

i don't think it would be the same. because there was community around it. it was new and innovative. it wasn't just the material possession of the things.
oh gotta add mech commander to the list....haha
The 90s were awesome. That's all there is to it. That's the last decade where cartoons were good, now they all suck. And music was pretty good too, now it's all so generic. I say it's the last decade where anything was good.
Goldeneye 007 tournaments. The best shooter-to-decade ever conceived.
forgot that too.. haha, and perfect dark was pretty awesome too. laptop gun.
goldeneye was so awesome....so much fun with it. and then all the games later. looking back at the graphics we thought they were awesome back then....didn't even really mind either. we look at them now and go lulz. :P
rainbow 6... i think you get the picture...haha
The Oregon Trail (PC game) Made in 1992. I recently found that game again and started playing it. Boring but brings back good memories.

we used to game that on macs back in the day at school. whenever we went into the lab we would try and sneak a few minutes of play when the teacher wasn't looking... haha, good times.
ahhhh the time when T.V. was good, and playstation and Nintendo 64 was the shit. god today's generation is a bunch of pussies
Because the 90's made the best momories, with all of the good cartoons and games

This is literally everything you'd want to know about the 90's. You're welcome.
arcades were pretty sweet in the 90s to early 2000s were awesome too....
Consumerism. Nuff said
Consumerism. Nuff said
That was around before the 90's tho.
It's when the gangs started rising
It was a great time to be a kid. Lots of TV shows and movies were less ADD-causing and actually had wit and charm. Toys were more dangerous. Nickelodeon and Cartoon Network were in a golden age. Video games were simple, but also longer and more challenging as well as cheaper.
Lots of good bands started out too, before modern post-grunge turned things to shit. Weezer, Smashing Pumpkins, NIN, Pearl Jam, Radiohead, the list goes on...
Madonna, N'Sync, and Creed were doing the same shit Lady Gaga, The Jonas Brothers, and Nickelback are doing now.
Fashion was pretty lame, but mostly among hipsters just like today. Star Wars was back in theaters for a while. Movies couldn't rely on CGI much for effects until the last couple years.
The 90s: Best decade ever.
EVER!
awesome actors such as steven sugal
I lol'd. Steven Seagal may have been present in movies, but he never acted. Also fun, but largely irrelevant fact: Seagal got choked out by one of his stuntman, Gene LeBell, after Seagal claimed he was "impervious" to being choked out. He wasn't.
