12:40 PM- Not much happened so far, small leak in the floor of my bathroom coming down from the roof but that's it. Keeping a flashlight on me.
I had actually forgotten about the need for a flashlight. Of all the things...
Where ya'll located?
Connecticut, Southeastern New Haven county.
Where ya'll located?
Howard county, MD.
Anybody near?
I think I see some minor flooding in the streets on LI. I'll update when I see something.
poopy
Where ya'll located?
Bergen Country, that NE corner of NJ
We're in the inland part though so I guess that's better than coastline
Reporting in again from Connecticut. Time is about 12:52 AM. Occasional Wind, Consistent rain which is picking up as I type. There was some lightning earlier. My Laptop and iTouch are charging, maybe I'll make some videos. Debating whether or not to pull an all-nighter. Got the windows wide open here in the basement and will close them when shit goes down.
Edit: Oh, and my two parakeets are going bonkers.
Only noobs live on the coast, fault lines, deserts, or anywhere else a natural disaster can happen.

I won't even be able to sleep because of the noise so I definitely am.

They happen everywhere, there's no place that's totally safe from a natural disaster.

Connecticut buddies. :D
We actually live pretty close.
im chillin here in my apartment, the city was evacated this morning.
big waste of time
8 people have died so far. There would be dozens more if they didn't evacuate. It's not a waste of time to those lives that have inevitably been saved by it.

I'm pulling an all-nighter partly for giggles and also because I'd like to be awake if a tree decides to say a destructive hello to the house and/or power lines.

Fuck yeah. Storm is pretty quiet now though.
Goddammit my mom's shutting down my allnighter
Granted the storm will continue throughout tomorrow but I feel like I'm missing shit
It started raining pretty hard here, nothing too bad though. And still, not that much wind. My TV's Satellite is losing signal every now and then.
Good luck to all, hope you survive, and try not to kill yourselves because of no internet/electricity for a few days.
There is heavy rain and some occasional wind where I live. I live in NYC just so you know.
Good luck to all, hope you survive, and try not to kill yourselves because of no internet/electricity for a few days.
I'm not too worried about the potential for a few days without power. We're prepared for that.
I'm infinitely more bothered by the idea that Gamestop will be SWARMED with people the second the store opens again. Hell, it was packed tonight and people were actually surprised we were closing the store in advance of the storm. Selfish? Yeah, maybe a bit.
That said, if a tree decides to fuck the house up, I'll have bigger concerns.

I can do without the internet, I've got some games to play and a SWEP base for Garry's Mod to work on. But if the power goes out for more than a few hours I'll lose it :suicide:

When Ike passed by I went to bed with all the trees blowing left, then woke up with all the trees blowing right. Was an odd feeling. You're not missing much though, it's going to be too dark to see anything.
In NYC queens, not to bad right now huge puddles here and there

The fact that people are buying video games before a hurricane shows their inexperience with the things. Buy books or board games or something. Video games are useless.
Apparently I don't need to do anything.
Good luck to those who do.

You're lucky you got power. It's out in Brooklyn, Manhattan, and Staten Island.

Maybe they were pre-ordering Battlefield 3

Really now... You live near lower Manhattan?

I can honestly say that my coworkers and myself were utterly baffled (and more than a little angry).
I have no objections to the extra business, but I was furious with people for being so damn naive.
Hurricane? What hurricane?... OH SHIT
Watching the Times Square cam. Wonder what would happen if the power went out.
Upper
Has it been out at all? I could swear the whole grid was down awhile ago.
