Posting my town was a pretty stupid idea.
I'm in Lynnfield.
Actually, posting my town was a pretty stupid idea.
Yeah, because we're going to track you down with that much information.

Hm, well, I'm fairly confident this username is not associated with my real name. Not to mention I have a fake Facebook set up that's public. I had a friend try to DOX me with no luck, so I think I'm safe regardless. But better safe, than sorry, right?

I have prepared myself with beverage.

I live on Long Island so I don't really know how much we actually need this stuff, can't hurt to be prepared I guess
Wooh, fellow Long Islander! :U
I fled to Washington. (Not really, we were vacationing here when we found out about it.) I'm kind of stuck here for a while. :/
They finally updated the radar data:

More evidence that sarcasm doesn't fare well on the internet.
My friend on the East coast is preparing by having his flight to the West Coast cancelled :(
We met on an exchange trip and after organising a return trip from to UK to Philadelphia for me and my friends to see our exchanges again, I break my leg and can't go. Then my parents pull a sort of surprise holiday to California and ask him to come with. Day before he sets off, flights cancelled. Cali's good but for fuck sake...

Oh fuck, that's up to date? Christ this storm is closer to me than I thought. I should be able to see the fucker soon. I am scare.
I'm going into Boston harbor in a dingy with some friends. Probably a bad idea.
I live within three miles of the Connecticut shoreline (which looks to suffer a direct impact as a Category 1). We've stocked up on water, we have plenty of food that's easy to just toss on the grill, and we've moved all our outdoor furniture and miscellaneous items either below the deck or into the basement.
There's not much more we can do to prepare other than wait for the storm and pray that the wind doesn't knock down one of the dozen 80ft trees surrounding the house; I could do without a gigantic hole in the ceiling. I'm also hoping that work will be closed on Sunday.

I'm pretty sure that's going beyond "bad idea" into "dangerously stupid."

the cycle ends at 10:00 EDT. They seem to be updating it every hour. Here's the satellite and radar for 11:00 EDT:

Make a will, take out a huge life insurance claim and fill out your death certificate in advance so your family does not have to be burdened.
Not much, it's not supposed to be too big here, just making sure I have a charged cell phone and iPod and making sure anything that could blow away won't.
I bought a few boogie boards for me and my friends.

Where are you located?
Where are you located?
Downriver a few miles off the Rappahannock, about 50-60 miles southeast of Richmond.

How close are you to the river?
How close are you to the river?
Not close enough to be victim to the storm surge, my house is like 50 feet above sea level anyway, but close enough to have every fucking thing in my yard thrown at my house. Clean up is gonna be fun once the storm's over.
Would I be alright ~30 miles west of Boston? I'm pretty sure nothing will happen, but at the very least I'm expecting rain.
My house is actually built on a decently tall hill, but all the bottoms around my property are gonna be absolutely flooded, along with much of my town.
Fix generator.
Stock up on cereal.
Sit in house blast music don't give a fuck.
Same idea as Isabel .

Well, here's predicted surge data anyway:

I wish I still had the panoramic picture of my front and back yard after Ike hit. Clean up was a bitch. Especially with no power and AC, and everyone was burning leaf piles making the air smoky. Not to mention the typical summer humidity.
