My plan for tonight (at least as long as I have power) is to play the entirety of Spyro 2. Start to finish, 100%
That's cool. I've been playing Resident Evil 2 for the last 2 days. Might stop at the mall and try and pick up some games before the storm hits.

Just fyi, the reason why you're suppose to stock up on supplies is not for the hurricane. It's for the aftermath and not having power or running water for a week. I just heard awhile ago that they're going to shut down the sanitation department soon giving you only one flush on your toilet. Use it wisely. Not really expecting anything other than rain here in upstate NY. My brother is in NYC though, no idea what he's doing atm
Montgomery county here. were neighbors <3
Hey I live in Montgomery county too! Although it's in Texas. [editline]27th August 2011[/editline]
Not really expecting anything other than rain here in upstate NY.
If he lives in a tall building tell him to leave.
Ugh, I'm trying to get my best friend to leave his highrise apartment but he won't. And he lives in one of the zone A evac areas. (NYC) [editline]27th August 2011[/editline] Also, anybody in the city, what's all this I'm hearing about ConEd shutting down power? I know Downtown Manhattan's getting cut off but they can't be killing off Brooklyn, can they?
Ugh, I'm trying to get my best friend to leave his highrise apartment but he won't. And he lives in one of the zone A evac areas. (NYC)
Tell him to tape up his windows and remove any window mounted AC units. Also to go hide in a windowless room. Highrise windows may blow out in high wind conditions, taping them up will reduce the chance of shattering and getting glass splinters all over your house and face. Also tell him to put everything he doesn't want on the streets of new york out of rooms with windows.

uh when is virginia beach supposed to get hit? it's all sunny and dandy here in virginia beach and apparently norfolk is getting hammered
Well, everyone was telling us to gear up for a storm worse than Isabel here, and now this is even less threatening than your average rainstorm. So much for a hurricane.

Or if it will go out at all, but it's best to be ready for it if it does.

Good luck.
All good here in NC. Then again, I live really far inland, like the middle of the state. I know that the Outer Banks/Coast was getting hit sometime yesterday I believe. I do hope everyone is okay down there.
I live in New Jersey just got some water and canned food.
My prayers are with you, my east Coastians. Although I don't pray and am an Atheist. Still, I hope you all survive without losing too much.
Stocked up on water, canned foods, and I'm charging up a few car batteries to use with my car inverter so I can power my fish tanks if the power goes out for an extended period of time. I also prepared myself by putting up a stream: http://www.ustream.tv/channel/hurricane-irene-mullica-hill-nj

They're troopers. I lost a handful of tropical fish, no saltwater ones oddly. Also, it's good to be over prepared. You'll be laughing at everyone in a few days because they have no power or supplies.
Well looks like I went around fixing generators all damn day yesterday for nothing, I guess thats kind of a good thing, but still.
I might stream this from nyc, I heard the grocery stores are mostly empty for some reason, I don't think it's going to last that damn long.
I might stream this from nyc, I heard the grocery stores are mostly empty for some reason, I don't think it's going to last that damn long.
The gas stations near my house are all empty.
My prayers thoughts, and if there is a fund available, 50 bucks are with you guys.

We bought big bags of mulch to side up alongside the house where there's a depression in the patio. We put up boards over the subterranean windows to the basement, and dug trenches in the yard to divert water away from the walls and get it flowing down the hill. Finally, as a precaution we got everything cardboard or wooden off the floor in the basement and stacked them on wood planks and the couches. Also we cooked a bunch of shit for three days worth of no-power, if it ever came to that. It took two whole days, and now I get to sit back and wait for the hurricane, that i may enjoy this crazy weather.:v:
We're having a party at my house tomorrow. The hurricane could go through my town. There's a chance.
Heh, I'm preparing by taking a shower before the storm hits, just in case the power goes out. (we have a pump system, not public water.)
I just tied our boats to some trees and brought in all the lawn chairs, etc. It's chaotic in New York, and it's coming to where we are. So I'm a little worried. All the stores locally ran out of water 15 minutes into their newest shipments. I stocked up on water and food and stuff, but I don't think it will be too bad.
Pensacola, Florida, storm isn't going through, but from that radar, It looks like there's gonna be wind and rain, just in case we have like 4 boxes of water and there are 16 cans of corn right above me, 13 bottles of barbeque sauce, because why not. 8 bottles of ketchup for some reason, too, don't ask, I'm not the one making the grocery lists. And about 24 bottles of various powerade flavors too. Some salsa, and canned chicken breast. And some miracle whip and ranch dressing. Come at me, nature.
