I was excited for something like this when taking this "quest". But no, not in Bethesda's Fallout. How can you have implausibly silly situations when your only way to solve quests is to murder everything?
Who brings the boltgun to assault the institute? It is actually hard to watch this.
I don't think this is an introspective on father.
I think it's just bad writing and an excuse to shoehorn the child in as a 'reward'
I feared Bethesda would learn absolutely nothing as to why people adored New Vegas and sadly it turned out I was right. The only thing they really took from New Vegas was companion depth.

Honestly that's pretty good, FO3 had alright companions (I barely remember Sarah Lyons and maybe Fawkes), but FO4 definitely turned it up and had fucking great character writing (Piper, Danse, Nick, etc)
