Hellraiser?
Hellbound: Hellraiser II, specifically. Hellraiser has maybe 3 minutes of hell whereas Hellraiser II is probably more than half set in hell.
Spawn
Exorcist (demons are part of hell right?)
Dogma
Ghostbusters (Kind of? The other world is a hell kind of concept.)
wait nobody has mentioned Beetlejuice? i mean sure it wasn't technically hell but come on, purgatory as depicted in that is close enough!

hell as referenced to in this thread is a location. aside for Spawn, none of those have hell. (why is Dogma even listed?)
I like the movies that use hell (or the allusion/symbolism thereof) without actually showing anything of it.
The more they build up how horrible/interesting/bizarre it is while leaving your mind void of imagery; it just starts to form all sorts of fascinating wonders all to it's own. :v:
On that note, if I remember it at all, I think Event Horizon pulled that. Ungodly, horrible place that was never directly shown.
To finish my ramble, has there ever been a film involving Dante's Inferno? I always found his depiction to be amazing; woulda kinda love to see it literally.

Are we talking about Hell being a location you actually see in the movie? Because if so none of my suggestions work. But if we are just talking about relating to hell then these will work.
Dogma deals in heaven and hell as well as angels and demons.
The Exorcist deals in a possession by a demon.
And Ghostbusters

This always looked pretty hell like to me.
Yeah Beetlejuice is a good one.
Hell is always drawn incorrectly in movies, it should be the most terrifying thing you will ever see, but instead it's just a cave with lava in it

If I can remember as I haven't seen it in ages, it's nothing like that in Hellraiser
I'm sure more than a few Nightmare on Elm Street movies have shown Freddy in Hell.
I also think one of the Friday the 13th movies had Jason in Hell.

Marrrge, what the fuck!
I'm curious has to how you have drawn that conclusion.
Maybe because it's one of the very very very few "high" budget movies that actually contain hell. I have honestly not seen any other movies with hell in them before constantine (which is why I'm asking here). I said that it was a "pretty good" portrayment, because I have nothing to compare it with.
If you want a more "personal" type of Hell, the movie Jacob's Ladder contains one of the best representations of Hell I've seen.....I'm referring to the hospital gurney scene of course.

Hell is always depicted based on the imagery of Dante Alighieri's The Inferno or maybe John Milton's Paradise Lost. Often the numerous levels are unimportant to what they are trying to convey so they sum it up with the general look of Hell. Fire, lava, creatures, etc.
I want to see a relatively by-the-book movie of The Inferno. I think that would be really interesting.

so what is hell like this time of year? i only ask because it seems like you sure know an awful lot about it

Bill and Ted's Bogus Journey
All Quiet Along the Western Front
Seriously, WW1 was Hell on Earth for the men in the trenches.
Don't feel like making a separate thread for this so bare with me as I borrow yours. Does anyone know what the movie was called where a guy travels back and forth between hell and earth? I remember a scene where he throws himself in front of a bus. :v:
