Why does it have to be a cessna?
Could be a piper varient. Remeber this a VARIANT , so theres probably alot of other planes by the company
Could be a piper varient.
two blades..
Could be a piper varient.
4 blades.
4 blades.
Do you know what the word variant means or what?
I suggest instead of looking for variants of planes, we look for planes that have 4 blades by default and which has a cone that looks the same. If we're gonna consider all the varianst of different planes, it's gonna be nearly impossible to identify the plane.
I did a little looking and the DH6 Twin Otter would fit. You gota realize that props can be changed out, so can nose cones, so there's probably no way you could every identify what plane it is from unless you talked to an expert. If it helps though, the only time I've ever seen anything like that on a small aircraft was on competition or acrobatic aircraft. Doubt it would be that so narrow your search to twin engine planes.
Looks like a Zeda-42ZE.
Maybe a fighter prop? The hole in the tip could hold a machine gun.
I don't know what it's off of, To me I'm leaning towards a Spitfire, or a plane of around 1950-1960, It's probably some home made piece of garbage though, tossed aside for a new and or a proper one And if it was a spitfire, and 'stolen' in California, It may even be from a plane that flew in the Reno Air races It seems a bit thin to be from one though but hell there were so many made throughout the years, it's hard to be sure, But it has Similar/Identical rivets and holes at the base (Yes I know that has More than 4 props, we're looking at the shape) There are Spitfires with 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6 Blades
Um I thought we stoped flying those 40 years ago now
Maybe a fighter prop? The hole in the tip could hold a machine gun.
And where would ammo fit? In the engine bay? WWI guns were placed above the props, in WWII the guns would be in the wings.
And where would ammo fit? In the engine bay? WWI guns were placed above the props, in WWII the guns would be in the wings.
You've never heard of engine-mounted guns before?
And where would ammo fit? In the engine bay? WWI guns were placed above the props, in WWII the guns would be in the wings.
Explain to me the Me-109 and its nose mounted cannon then.
Wear it like a hat
And where would ammo fit? In the engine bay? WWI guns were placed above the props, in WWII the guns would be in the wings.
Some were also placed in the nose. Lots of german planes were like that. I'm quite sure there weren't a gun inside that though, because it doesn't look like that from the inside.
Um I thought we stoped flying those 40 years ago now
The Reno air races use a lot of old world war II aircraft. But last I checked they only have a P38 and a few carrier based U.S craft from that period and not any Spitfires.
And where would ammo fit? In the engine bay? As well as 2 guns on top of the nose, and a further 2 on the wings. Positioning of armament is more to do with type, balance, weight and airframe than with time frame.

OP, if you don't mind, i'll post this on an aviation forum. This wouldn't be the first case of a random a/c part they solved.
Maybe a fighter prop? The hole in the tip could hold a machine gun.
How the hell would you be able to put a machine gun on the tip?!
