If i ever get money Ill buy an abandoned power station and turn it into my home just because it would be epic.
I am so jealous :smith: the UK is sooo much better than the US at urbex
please promise to take me if I ever get to england
For some reason, seeing old abandoned railroad tracks makes me sad....
:saddowns:
There's an old abandoned barn up the street from me. Me and my friends went there and there was a fucking tooth tied to a nail in the wall.

Why the hell is a legendary sword lying around there?
Man, there's this power station not to far from my house that looks like an awesome place to explore.
Too bad it's still in use.
Whoah, those were some really incredible shots. Do you happen to be pursuing a career in photography by any chance?

How did you get so big?!
You Could make a small amount of money from this place, You can sell copper piping, wires, cables for alot of money. If you see plastic wrapped wires that are being left to rot, collect them up , put them in a hole and set fire to them.
The Fire will clean the copper wires so that you can easily take them to the scrap man. Plus they are worth more in this state.
Or you could take the gurdurs out of this building with some help ofc.

I think its something like £300 per ton of scrap metal that you can be paid.
I would cost em' half of what they would get just to take it down.
I don't get how the cooling towers work.

They're used for cooling :downs:
Nice pictures, I wish there was an abandoned place near my house that I could explore..
I've always liked the looks of cooling towers, but I never knew they had a hollow support. I thought it was the steel supports all the way through.
wheres the cool stuff like turbines n shit?
There's an abandoned place not far from my house.I have no idea what it was used for. I also know another, but it was demolished and replaced with a hypermarket-like store.. Oh, and another place which was an abandoned police station. Who wants to see the places, just respond to me. I'll borrow a camera and take some pics.
Lol at people who think its a nuke. As
A: Nukes take at least 300 years to be decommissioned.
B: IF you got onto a nuke site you'd just get shot by the CNC.

[sp]They probably moved out all the radioactive material though[/sp]
A nuclear power plant, even a former one, would be far more secured than that. That, and it says on the wiki and it's sources that it's a coal-fired power plant.
Are cooling towers like that ever used for anything else?
Yes, in many other power plants, oil refineries and so on.

If it was a nuclear power plant I'd be sprouting dicks out of my ears by now.

I wasn't planning on it but thanks <3
Amazing picture quality and gorgeous snapshots.
some of the pictures were stunningly spooky
Wish I had something like this near my house.
There's an abandoned amusement park about a mile away from my university's campus. It was built in the late 1800s to boost tourism to southeastern Massachusetts. The place was a staple of the town until the late 1940s, when they built a roller coaster that people kept dying on, causing it to be shut down in the 1970s.
I've been dying to check the place out for a while (the roller coaster and a few buildings still stand), but I don't want to go by myself because... well, it's fucking creepy to be honest (it's rumored to be haunted).
