It's really stupid Google hasn't done anything after 4+ incidents in the last month. Yes, 2 of them were Sam Pepper and some other guy being salty (Pyrocynical and Vagabonds), but Google should get the key that humans are better than robots (This and one of iDubbbz' videos). Really sucks that IHE got taken down.
But hiring humans requires paying them.
I am a nobody and I have been e-mailing the companies that takedown my videos directly, out of 6 videos that got copyrighted, I managed to get 5 reversed.
So yeah, if you want to become rich, start a middle man company that helps youtubers get their videos back / copyright claims removed. You could ask for a percentage of the ad revenue, a fixed fee per video or do a monthly subscription.
But hiring humans requires paying them.
Google already does this but they care more about things like gore and CP. I'm willing to bet they'd rather deal with some unhappy youtubers for a bit and just take down everything than flag everything. Hell accounts like this can get hacked and shit can be uploaded; imagine if some really bad stuff got uploaded and stayed up for awhile because the youtuber was big.
Also IHE is like the 7,000th largest youtube channel... so even putting the man effort into policing just those channels and above is nuts.
am I the only person here who's never heard of this guy?
I havent heard about him until YMS Talked about his cool cat video.

Holy shit it seems like everyone that Im subscribed to has commented on that video
Youtube needs to completely overhaul their report system. Stuff like this shouldn't be automated.
problem is that there is an insane amount of video that gets uploaded every second to youtube
they don't have the manpower or the money to have a dedicated core of employees that would pour through everything. completely impossible. maybe some sort of review board for user channels that have over a certain threshold of likes / view / followers or something?
Why assume they either have to have an automated system for everything or pure manpower for everything?
They can have an automated system for everyone below a certain subscriber or view number, and a manual system for everyone above that number. Remember we aren't just screwing over the youtuber here, but the fans too. The higher these numbers, the more likely he's legit and the more likely there are viewers who care.
It's really not that hard.
Also IHE is like the 7,000th largest youtube channel... so even putting the man effort into policing just those channels and above is nuts.
It's not like every one of those 7,000 channels is having a video taken down every day. If they have an automated system that can take down videos, they can have an automated system that can alert a person to look at a video for just those 7,000 people, so they never have to get screwed over. If 4 significant instances of this in a month is impressive even for YouTube's standards, I think even just a team of like 10-15 could handle everyone above 100k subscribers incredibly easily.
Remember we don't need to completely get rid of the current system and replace it with employees for those 7,000 or more people, we only need a person to step in when there is a problem. YouTube's system does a good enough job for these YouTubers in terms of preventing content actually breaking the guidelines, so all we need is people for when it screws up.
Issue is I think the reason they are so trigger happy on it is the massive amount of legal trouble they could be in if they aren't, being such a huge site. (I mean, isn't the whole reason this system got implemented because tons of big companies were going to or actually did take legal action against Youtube?)
What they actually need to do is implement harsh punishments for people who abuse the system.
People seem to forget about all of the shit unregulated Youtube went through. Billion dollar lawsuits, illegal shit everywhere, etc.
His channel gets taken down, yet alot of reaction channels and prank channels don't. Good going there Youtube.
Suspended for repetitive content/spam.
Yet Jinx is still up.

They used to have secret codes for movies, TV, porn and etc way back in the day. You had to search the exact code and it would send all the videos that also had the code in their description to the top of your search list, otherwise they would never appear or be hidden in-between dozens of thousands of random videos. Granted it was all in 360p (at best) but there were tens of thousands of things uploaded that way. It was like Netflix before Netflix. It was pretty nice at the time.
"The YouTube conmmunity flagged one of your videos..."
Sorry, you mean the internet? Because YouTube is the third most visited side on the entire fucking internet. There is no single "YouTube community", that means "people who have access to the internet". I don't understand how YouTube can treat itself like it has some singular community.
This isn't a slight on IHE, it's a slight on YouTube.
Yes there is. While a good amount of people do go to youtube daily, the majority of them go and view a viral video or two for a few minutes then shunt off back to facebook or something else for the next thing to entertain them. What's left behind is a pretty sizable actual community who actually watch videos for more then just a couple minutes. After that they are then split up into their own little categories such as the gaming section, the comedy section, the vlog section, etc. For example, I spend about half the time I'm on the internet on youtube, usually watching gaming videos, thus I am a part of the youtube community. It's the same thing as Reddit being a community or Tumblr being a community or even 4chan being a community. Youtube very clearly has a community.
good to see support from other major youtubers like H3H3 and GradeA, youtube seriously needs an overhaul. This is worse than any support system I've seen.
With a channel like his, I think he might have had it coming, just like that tastless prank channel. I wonder if the flagging system is employing a bad example of people being able to amass flaggings until a threshold of flags is reached and the automated procedure deletes the video.
On the subject of IHE, I watched a few of his videos and had a question pop into my mind. An honest question that makes me concerned for his well being.
Why would somebody dedicate an entire channel to the emotion of pure hatred of things? There's all these emotions and you choose to be vitriolic, all these flavous and you choose to be bitter.
I mean, even channels or people critiquing things like movies in odd ways tend to find humor in the badness of the subject matters they discuss, like the late Roger Ebert did if you've read his reviews of some bad movies.
But this IHE guy just straight up despises things like a textbook nihilist, without humor or mood lightening comments.
But then again, his videos are probably not meant to be enjoyed as much as to be hatred fuel for those who sympathize with him.
The fact that they literally have no real (as in, a actual employee/human responds to your questions) is pretty disgraceful.
Just speculation, but:
If a video has some specific words in it's title or description and it gets flagged for the category that those words are applied to then the system immediately assumes that the flag is valid and this happens.
I had the same thing happen to a video I recorded of someone hacking, which was flagged for being misleading and caused my account to close for a while.
If it's the same situation, it would take about two days to get everything back.

"if i don't personally like it, it should be taken down" get over yourself.

Pretty sure you haven't watched many of his videos, or for that matter, much comedy at all.

Yeah, I get the feeling that you haven't really watched all that much of his videos because you're hitting all the same "I don't know anything about IHE but I'm gonna comment on him anyway" marks the rest of the shitty commenters do
Does this kind of shit really happen that often that google can't be arsed to just like lock two people in the basement to sift through channels with a lot of reports?
do you really REALLY need an automated bot that suspends your channel with no warnings or anything and doesn't even give a link to appeal or something?
wrong thread
Wow, this is pretty depressing.
I am hoping since he had basically no warning, and it happened immediately after the message about "repeated flaggings" of that video, it means that it was just automated after a certain number of total flags or something, those flags being all from a certain group or bots or something. Something that could be quickly disregarded and reverted. Hopefully.
same shit happened to me, and i'm a small channel, you get no warning, just a ban and then wait to get it sorted out
man if he waved his arms around any more he might actually take flight
This takedown is, quite rightly getting alot of attention from big YouTubers, so, I propose some official thread music:

When the humor's dry enough to make sandpaper from, dry enough to make people physically thirsty from listening it, I guess I don't pick up on it. IMO, Saving Private Ryan is comedy gold the few times it cracks a joke, in comparison to IHE.
