wtf that rhino
I'd prefer a bi-pedal rhino.
This whole thing feels rushed. "Hey Avengers is good, we need something like that. Bringing lots of characters together." "Sinister 6?" "Let's do it!" "Well it'll take another 5 movies-" "Make it 2" It seems Xmen: Days of Future Past has the same "We need an Avengers-esque crossover" mentality. But this is taking it way too far.
wow all of the villains in this film look bad i had such high hopes after the great redesign of the spidey suit
Hi-res promo image
I think Micheal Bay sneaked a Transformer in there.
I still want to see it. I'm not one to judge outright on how it looks. It could all fit with the story they want to tell. But you've got your high profile actor to play Electro, why stick in Goblin at all? He really deserves his own film. There's just such a sugar rush in the world of super hero movies for everybody outside MCU. Even Batman VS Superman is seeming like an unnecessary and sudden cash in.
I hope the next movie has Carnage. I just want a well done Carnage. Though it'd probably require an R rating cause fuck. [editline]3rd December 2013[/editline]
wow all of the villains in this film look bad i had such high hopes after the great redesign of the spidey suit
To be honest, the only iffy design is really Goblin, and im not judging until i see footage.
at least spider-man 3's villains sorta stayed true to the comics i have nothing against movies doing their own thing, but why do some of them feel the need to ignore the source material as much as possible?

Electro's design is passable. Rhino's is incomprehensible (and is that a chaingun on his back?). Goblin is just pedestrian and boring. It seems that all the design work went towards that Spidey suit. I was so excited for this movie, but my expectations have been so drastically lowered over the past few days... It's like the opposite of what happened to me with Walter Mitty, where it went from "Walter Mitty starring Ben Stiller and Kristen Wiig? That sounds worse than being diagnosed with cancer on your birthday!" to "HOLY FUCK THAT TRAILER WAS BEAUTIFUL".
What do you mean?
i'm saying that when they're making changes "just because" (and not for the sake of originality or what have you), it just shows that they dont give a shit about the source material, and that they don't care about making a good film either. aka, it's a cash grab, though that's obvious since the first one was one too. [editline]3rd December 2013[/editline] the fact that it's going for an avengers-esque kind of thing like all the other superhero franchises, like someone already said, only reinforces that idea
i'm saying that when they're making changes "just because" (and not for the sake of originality or what have you), it just shows that they dont give a shit about the source material, and that they don't care about making a good film either. aka, it's a cash grab, though that's obvious since the first one was one too.
Well i mean, Rhino and Electro seem pretty close to the Ultimate versions. Green Goblin is closer to the comics than both Raimi ones.
I liked the first Amazing Spiderman, but I thought that the entire ending was really dumb. If I hear anything about Amazing Spiderman 2 that's mediocre, I'm passing it entirely.
the goblin is actually the one i dislike the most, because he'd be almost exactly like franco's goblin, was it not for the weird hair and the lack of the surfboard-like glider. i mean, i like electro's design; i'm not too fond of that rhino but i wanna see it in action first; but unless that goblin has [sp]the mutations like we saw in that one storyboard,[/sp] he might just have one of the most disappointing designs i've seen in a movie adaptation of a comic book yet
i have nothing against movies doing their own thing, but why do some of them feel the need to ignore the source material as much as possible?
putting in actual comic characters that were developed and portrayed over many years is too hard so let's just use his/her name and kinda use how he/she looks and then fuck everything else
Well i mean, Rhino and Electro seem pretty close to the Ultimate versions. Green Goblin is closer to the comics than both Raimi ones.
In the standard Marvel universe, Green Goblin was Norman Osborn. A lab accident gave him superpowers, but also drove him insane. He dressed up like a Goblin and threw pumpkin bombs at Spider-Man. Harry Osborn later took up the mantle after his father's death by impalement. In the Ultimate Marvel Universe, Green Goblin was Norman Osborn. An experimental super-soldier serum turned him into a hulking monster that could shoot fire from his hands. Harry Osborn turned into a similar creature, fought his father once, then was cured. In Raimi's films, Green Goblin is Norman Osborn. A lab accident gave him super powers, but also drove him insane. He dressed up in an experimental flight suit and threw pumpkin bombs at Spider-Man. Harry Osborn later took up the mantle after his father's death by impalement. In TASM2, the Green Goblin is [sp]Harry Osborn. A serum turns his skin spring green, gives him fangs and claws. He flies around on an experimental glider.[/sp] This is all we know for sure. I'd argue to say that Raimi's was closer to the source than this. [editline]4th December 2013[/editline] I have no problem with movies doing their own take on a character. Look at the entire Nolanverse. But if you're going for a straight adaptation... Do your own thing with a minor character. Electro, Shocker, Rhino. You can experiment with them and not many people will care. But you don't try to "re-invent" things like the Green Goblin! The reason he's so popular is that the rendition we already have is so GOOD. Take what you're given and make it work in the universe you've established. There is absolutely no reason that [sp]Harry has to be the Goblin[/sp], at least not right off the bat.
I'm not a fan of the Goblin design. But I've been pessimistic about movies before (Heath Ledger as Joker, nobody thought he'd pull it off). So let's just see what happens. To be fair, that Goblin was fantastic. Take William DeFoe and give him the ability to move his face.
I thought the point of the Amazing Spiderman was that it was the original comic books, we had Gwen Stacey, web cartridges and his parents were spies. Why is so much of this looking like Ultimate Spiderman? I'm not saying Ultimate spiderman is bad and I'm glad they're not doing Amazing Electros outfit mind you.
It could always be worse
Basically what any Spider-Man fan says to himself/herself every time Marvel fucks the 'character' and his universe over. Then One More Day happened. Suddenly putting in Doc Ock in Parker's body, then have Parker die in Ock's body only for him to stick around as some ghost that gets 'seriously guys, we're really killing off Peter this time, we promise' annihilated in a inner mind battle with SpOck (Doc Ock's Spider-Man) sounds like a much better idea. He met Stacey when he was in university (which was what Raimi did).
I knew that wouldn't last.
Yeah well ever since Superman conquered death in comics, I don't think any major iconic comic superhero (in the main continuity of course) who died after the event actually ever stayed dead. Hell, even characters who died before that came back to life e.g. Barry Allen. Peter Parker will be coming back some day. The only thing that I hope is when he does come back, that god-awful relationship-Mary Sue Carlie Cooper would be gone. We need like a, Bizarro or even a Venom version of Joe Quesada.

It was fucking cool. Instead of Shocker being this goon who made a gadget, he was this slick, "nothing personal, just business" kinda hitman.

If you want to get specific, its really a version of the 1981 cartoon Green Goblin. [editline]4th December 2013[/editline] With harry instead of norman. [editline]4th December 2013[/editline] The fuck is norman doing in this movie?
The fuck is norman doing in this movie?
Being sickly, possibly masterminding everything, but most importantly, [sp]NOT BEING THE GREEN GOBLIN.[/sp]
Being sickly, possibly masterminding everything, but most importantly, [sp]NOT BEING THE GREEN GOBLIN.[/sp]
maybe [sp] Hopefully he uses the goblin serum on his son, just to see if it works. However it doesn't work and Norman perfects it, and becomes the real green goblin. and Harry misses the power, so he'll try to kill his father, however it won't work. And eventually gets the symbiote! [/sp] Also carnage would be insanely good, hope they make it really dark if/when they do him.
They released it [hd]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nbp3Ra3Yp74[/hd]
Looks really good! And those two item teases!
