Look at that silk screening. I actually watched a featurette on the spider-man 2 DVD that showed the costume in detail during development, pretty cool. [editline]16th March 2014[/editline] God DAMMIT.
I just checked it out and I'm so glad they went with more traditional suit for Spidey in the second film. I think it even looks better/more faithful to comics than Sam Raimi's. Their design for TAS1 was actually pretty bad looking back. The only thing I liked a bit was the material looked more protective. But it made you wonder even more how Peter could make something like that on his own. I hate the name "Spidey" for some reason. Just makes me cringe for some reason
I hate the name "Spidey" for some reason. Just makes me cringe for some reason
Its been used for like 50 years.

oh that effect oooooh
It'll probably look a lot better in motion
It almost looks as if Harry is losing his green. Could the formula be wearing off? And boom more reason for me to guess that he's going to become vevnom.
Another wasted Goblin.

seems more like this will follow the "harry dies/norman comes back" routine if you ask me
lost all hype i had for this film it's gonna be shit isnt it??
I don't want to come off as rude or anything but why are you so hyped towards the prospect of Harry becoming Venom?
Because I'm a fan of Dane DeHaan

Not gonna lie I actually liked how that rhino fight scene at the end looked
Those NY manhole covers can take a beating.
I am once again hyped. It all looks really fun and I like the suit and yay.
Those NY manhole covers can take a beating.
they're pretty heavy, man.
I know I'm in the minority, but I like the look of the effects. It's bright, fluid, colorful. Those are all things Spider-Man should be from a design standpoint.
quit hating it looks like its gonna be entertaining as shit
It looks better than the first but to be honest the trailer for the first didn't show the bad parts. Garfield's Peter seems more confident now so that's a plus. Electro looks badass, Harry's Goblin is horribly boring looking (here's hoping that when Norman becomes Green Goblin they finally go for more traditional look).
Looks better than the last two movies. And also fun and colorful. Also unlike the last two movies.
quit hating it looks like its gonna be entertaining as shit
I usually defend movies that try to be entertaining above everything, but you can't use that as an excuse all the time I mean, you have movies like Pacific Rim, which don't try to come off as being deeper than they are. It's not that it fails to develop its characters or story, it's more that it doesn't try to. The filmmakers were well aware that they could've made a movie with better characters and plot but they chose not to do it. That's different from movies like Spider-man 3, though. It was entertaining, yes, but that doesn't excuse the fact that it was a convoluted mess with way too many unecessary characters and plot lines. Was the poor writing intentional in that case? I seriously doubt it. What I'm saying is that if it's "entertaining and nothing more" on purpose then I have nothing against it, but you can't say that it's good because it's entertaining if it ends up being a shit movie with a couple of flashy fight scenes.

Entertraining, flash, colorful =/= good. I recommend Pacific Rim to all my friends, but I always tell them 'leave your inner critic at the door'. The problem with the Spider-Man movies is that they always seem to be trying to handle things with a certain degree of seriousness that doesn't fit the character. It's why I always enjoyed the Marvel movies so much. They know that they're making a movie about improbable characters in an improbable world, so they go along with it and have fun making something that at the same time can be slightly deep and thoughtful. The seriousness is the secondary objective. Which is why I love Spider-Man 2, because it's the least serious of the Raimi trilogy. That movie looks at Spider-Man 1, thanks it for its whole "bla bla bla responsibility is serious" thing, and then takes the Spider-Man thing and runs away with it. I mean, need I remind you that SM2 had Alfred Molina tied to sentient robotic tentacles and made that look cool?!

Grounded not "let's make this super realistic and darrk guyyys". To me, it's the only major Spider-Man film so far to seriously try to emmulate the essence of the Spider-Man comics during the Lee/Romita, Sr. days (especially since the film itself heavily borrows its story and imagery from 'Spider-Man No More!') with Raimi still trying to project his own unique spin on the mythos and tone without it being too distracting. Of course, all of the films fall short to the true superior Japanese Spider-Man by Toei.
Rhino looks so cool. I love how he looks like a dinosaur machine.

But they don't call Dane DeHaan the green goblin, BECAUSE (he isn't the REAL green goblin) [my thoughts] at 1:35 next to the wings it looks like a black sphere is rotating around, which I think is the symbiote. It's too good to not use. Really, they just have to make sure they don't make him worse than in Spider-Man 3.[/sp]
