[sp]GEE I WONDER WHATS GOING TO HAPPEN TO GWEN WITH ALL OF THIS FORESHADOWING about death and her father's ghost appearing to peter when convenient! omgggggggggg i was literally SHOCKED by that ending!@[/sp]
You should have seen the facebook profile for the film. [sp]Just picture after picture of Gwen with quotes that amount to "Being spiderman could harm those you love"[/sp]
I feel like they should have not been so all over the place honestly, like if [sp] They had focused on Electro as the main bad guy and ended with him dieing, then maybe a closing scene with goblin staring around at all the tech around him to foreshadow the sequels they are no doubt making it would have been a more full-filling ending. That way they could save Gwen dieing for another time and still stay loyal to the comics while giving the viewer satisfaction that Peter and Gwen finally realize they are meant for each-other and It still retains a good ending, meanwhile opening them up for sequels that capitalize on Goblin as a character as opposed to a last second tool to kill Gwen.[/sp] That is just in my personal opinion at least.
TBH I really liked the movie, even watched it 2 times because the first time, Electro literally took out the power of the cinema so they sent us to watch it in 3D for free when there was like 40 minutes missing in the first time, so I watched the whole movie again in 3D for free Also [sp]When Peter finds out that that they need Richard's blood for the test, I guess that explains why Peter got powers and Harry got infected, only Richard's blood or DNA or whatever is compatible with the venom?[/sp] Edit Does anyone know the name of the song Peter is hearing when he puts on the earbuds and starts making the map connections of his father?
Im surprised there are some who haven't heard of this song, it got pretty big.
I'm seriously considering watching this movie, could I have like a mini review just so I know if its worth my money

I'll be honest, the first time I heard this song was in the video below, so I laughed when it came up in the movie.
I'm seriously considering watching this movie, could I have like a mini review just so I know if its worth my money
IMO watch it for the action, not the story.
Anyone else hear JK Simmon's voice when Parker received that email?
[sp]When Peter finds out that that they need Richard's blood for the test, I guess that explains why Peter got powers and Harry got infected, only Richard's blood or DNA or whatever is compatible with the venom?[/sp]
richard parker literally says this exact thing on the video how did you miss it?
I know he said that, that he injected his blood into the hybrids, so I guess that is why Peter got powers? Also who is that guy at the end in Ravencroft?
[sp]So, i was looking at a site to catch some easter eggs i missed, and i noticed that they had the idea that Dr. Kafka might actually turn out to be Doc Ock instead of a new Octavius, because of his goggles and accent. He also survived the attack while the guards died, Electro just locked him in that water thing.[/sp]
I'm disappointed this movie had no J. Jonah Jameson He's what made the old ones so enjoyable. All you get in this one is [sp]a mere reference to the newspaper[/sp] And goddamn the fucking ad placements. [sp]that fucking verizon[/sp]
Among a lot of other things, one thing I didn't like about this movie was the abundance of slow motion in the fight scenes. The fun thing about Spider-Man fight scenes is how fast and crazy they are, I don't need you to ruin the pacing just so I can see every last detail.
It was a nice enough touch I thought. Nolans batman films had similar scenes where we see how his Gadgets help him out and he analyses scenes in exquisite detail. Super slow-mo showing more than a spitball and a fly in a school hallway are fine by me.

Super slow-mo showing more than a spitball and a fly in a school hallway are fine by me.
Sure, it's a nice thing to have every once in a while, but all the time? Why do we need to see every detail of every fight scene? Why not just let the fights flow naturally with Spidey jumping all over the screen while the bad guy tries to hit him? Constantly slowing things down defeats the point of having a movie about a hero that's really fast. I think the worst example of this is the part where time actually stops just to show Spidey stopping people from touching an electrified railing. Why did that part need so much emphasis? It's an interesting way for him to save people, but they really didn't need to completely halt the whole fight scene for it.
Don't the comics often show multiple detailed frames of how he saves people? I wasn't bothered by the slow-mo parts, were they really that frequent? Once I have time I need to go through all 5 films to see if there's something I'm missing. I still have a positive opinion about ASM2. I do start to realize the story was a series of moments that were lightly connected but overall I can't understand people hating it more than the ASM1.
I think it superseded the original spider-man 2 by far. Just a fantastic, enjoyable film. Rich in real emotions, great acting, great action, incredible camera work, and great use of music. Spider-Man 2 is still and will always be really good, but all the back n forth with him n' MJ and the stuff with him losing his powers is tiring for me now whenever re-watching it. With this one, it was a staggering 2 n half hours but really did not feel like that long at all. Jamie Foxx just killed it. He was so good as Max. [sp]Loved when you hear him giving the phone interview and he says "He saved my life and ever since we've sort of become best friends".[/sp] Little subtle things like that really made me love the character and his outlandish delusions. [sp]I think what they did with Goblin (and also Rhino) was perfect. Introducing them now saves a ton of time in the next installment for other things. Not only that but the extra drama that was added didn't feel bloated to me at all. A film focused only on Electro might have been too plane Jane.[/sp] [sp]the kid at the end putting on the mask and standing up to Rhino was so beautiful. Forget Gwen Stacy... that kid really got to me.[/sp] So good.
[sp]the kid at the end putting on the mask and standing up to Rhino was so beautiful. Forget Gwen Stacy... that kid really got to me.[/sp]
I kind of cringed at his blatant disregard for his own safety. What is it with Spider-Man saving a bunch of self-destructive children? There was the kid under the balloon in Spider-Man 1, the kid who was too scared to climb out of the car in ASM1, and then the kid in this one. I know they're kids and everything, but it bugs me when all they do is give up and accept their own demise.

I stepped out of the theater to go to the bathroom and I came back and this was on. I thought I walked in the wrong theater and watching an advert for an Airline.... Turns out it wasn't the wrong theater
[sp]I think what they did with Goblin (and also Rhino) was perfect. Personally, though, i think a lot of these critics were simply sticking to their guns because ahead of time, before even seeing the film, they all predicted it would be bloated based on the trailers. But it really wasn't. I mean you compare this green goblin to the original green goblins... there isn't even a comparison. This shit was leagues ahead of Raimi's vision in every way. Style, menace, and even believability (just made that word up). I dunno, i thought it was great. The only thing they messed up was promoting rhino in the trailers. They simply should not have done that. A straight up dumbass move. It would have had a much bigger impact on people if it was a complete surprise cameo appearance.
it's like why are all these things matter again?
it's like, hard to take your review seriously when you open it up with some stupid ass shit like this. "all these things"?? what are you, a valley girl with ADHD?
You assume children understand the concept of death?
I expect children to have at least some self-preservation instincts. Toddlers don't know not to wander into traffic, but these are older kids that should have at least some idea of what "danger" is. I'm no expert on children, though, so I might be wrong. Now that I think about it, the kids in the ASM movies aren't all that bad. The one in the car in ASM1 was too scared to climb, which is pretty valid. The one who [sp]stood up to Rhino[/sp] in 2 was probably just inspired by Spider-Man and foolishly brave. The only one without a real excuse was the kid in Spider-Man 1. "Let's watch this balloon crush me, everybody!" But he's not even in this trilogy, so I might as well drop it before we get way off topic.
Honestly, this was my favorite movie of all the spiderman's (raimi and this new series). They set up characters for upcoming films, they hinted at stuff. There's a deleted secret scene as well: [sp] Norman's head was on ice in the secret projects division [/sp] This spiderman actually cracks jokes when he's fighting the bad guys like how spiderman should be. The whole SUV thing [sp] Was them watching Harry to try and commit him to crimes because they didn't want a 20 year old kid running oscorp. [/sp]
[sp]rhino wasn't the reason he came back. he came back because aunt may encouraged him to store all his feels in a box and move on... to have hope again. it wasn't glossed over in the slightest and it was actually a rather touching scene.[/sp] That bitch from Forest Gump is really good as Aunt May. having additional villains in there helped paint a picture of a developing cinematic universe, and they achieved this without making it feel over-bloated... even though many critics still said it was. "all these things"?? what are you, a valley girl with ADHD?
I do live in, like, the heart of the central valley, so my inner valley girl might have been showing there. And it was immediately right after I saw the movie, I just had to spill my immediate thoughts on it. It hasn't changed at all and after viewing Spider-Man 2 again, it made TASM2 worse. Also Spider-Man 2 has aged quite a bit and some of the pacing and Raimi quirks are kinda a bit cringe but worked in favor to really sympathize for Peter.
The whole SUV thing [sp] Was them watching Harry to try and commit him to crimes because they didn't want a 20 year old kid running oscorp. [/sp]
[sp]How does him being out with his friend throwing rocks at the sea commit him to any crimes?[/sp]
having additional villains in there helped paint a picture of a developing cinematic universe, and they achieved this without making it feel over-bloated...
i'd argue that yes, it did feel bloated. the pacing was terrible because they had to keep switching back and forth between [sp]electro's transformation, gwen and peter's relationship troubles, peter finding out about his dad's secret lab (which wasn't really that relevant anyway) and harry's transformation[/sp]
Personally, though, i think a lot of these critics were simply sticking to their guns because ahead of time, before even seeing the film, they all predicted it would be bloated based on the trailers. But it really wasn't.
yes because experienced critics judge movies based on trailers
I mean you compare this green goblin to the original green goblins... there isn't even a comparison. This shit was leagues ahead of Raimi's vision in every way. Style, menace, and even believability (just made that word up).
are you really trying to say that [sp]harry "spoiled brat with daddy issues" osborn was more menacing than the murdering terrorist psychopath from the first movie? and that his design, which was literally just a mechanical suit with no unique features, was leagues ahead of raimi's?[/sp] i'll give you believability, but i thought it was a bit silly that his [sp]suit had a built in healing process. that whole scene seemed to imply that harry wouldn't have survived without the suit, but next time he shows up, he's completely fine and not even mutated anymore, for some reason[/sp]
[sp]How does him being out with his friend throwing rocks at the sea commit him to any crimes?[/sp]
[sp] Because they're trying to find something he says to use against him. People often tell confidential information to people they aren't suppose to. [/sp]

[/sp]
[sp]Except all they have there is a huge camera. They're too far-away to hear anything and I'm pretty sure they didn't plant any bugs on him.[/sp]
