[sp]Except all they have there is a huge camera. They're too far-away to hear anything and I'm pretty sure they didn't plant any bugs on him.[/sp]
[sp] You can hear Harry talking when they're talking inside the truck, the guy has headphones on in the background, and I'm pretty sure they had some giant thing on top of the truck. [/sp]
if he wasn't the reason then again, why is he even in this movie if not to tease the fans?
i'd argue that yes, it did feel bloated. the pacing was terrible because they had to keep switching back and forth between [sp]electro's transformation, gwen and peter's relationship troubles, peter finding out about his dad's secret lab (which wasn't really that relevant anyway) and harry's transformation[/sp]
yes because experienced critics judge movies based on trailers
are you really trying to say that [sp]harry "spoiled brat with daddy issues" osborn was more menacing than the murdering terrorist psychopath from the first movie? and that his design, which was literally just a mechanical suit with no unique features, was leagues ahead of raimi's?[/sp]
i'll give you believability, but i thought it was a bit silly that his [sp]suit had a built in healing process. that whole scene seemed to imply that harry wouldn't have survived without the suit, but next time he shows up, he's completely fine and not even mutated anymore, for some reason[/sp]
Personally, I sum up all the things you just said as, "The Amazing Spiderman 2 is 90% just set up for The Amazing Spiderman 3".
yes because experienced critics judge movies based on trailers
i think "experienced critics" often care a lot about saving face when it comes to their own reputation. Many of these clowns were predicting ahead of time on their stupid lil blogs that it looked like it'd be Spider-Man 3 all over again with "too many villains". Even though that certainly didn't turn out to be the case, they still ran with it because everyone is looking for any little reason to hate on what is viewed as an unnecessary rebooted series. [sp]I mean, really? 1.5 villains is too many villains? Goblin barely counts and Rhino doesn't even count at all. Rhino was a CAMEO APPEARANCE akin to exactly what you'd see in the comics before an official reveal of a character. if you look at it like that, it's actually rather brilliant. Kinda like Venom's cameo in Amazing Spider-Man #299 (which i own btw, along with #300, his first full appearance, i know, i know, i'm the man)[/sp]
Ultimately i don't really care what anyone thinks. It was a phenomenal comic book movie and i personally loved it. The best one i've seen in a long time. For me it's right up there among the greats like the first Iron Man, Dark Knight, Spider-Man 2, and X2. Winter Soldier was pretty good i guess but, man, one thing Marvel needs to stop doing is these stupid ass fake or temporary deaths. It's literally beginning to be a thing in every single movie in the MCU. Either kill someone or don't. Enough with the corny plot twists. Now i'm ranting.

You just complained about something this movie does as well. [sp]According to a deleted scene, Norman is not dead.[/sp]
Also, the 'temporary death' happens in exactly three occasions. [sp]One was Fury's death which was solved within the exact same movie. The other was Coulson's death which was resolved months later. And the last one was Bucky's death where we all knew he was not dead because that's not something the MCU came up with, that's from a comic from the early 2000's.[/sp]

Doesn't Spiderman not count with this because it's owned by Sony, not Marvel?

They've done it a lot more than that.
I'll make a list.
[sp] Captain America: Bucky Barnes [/sp]
[sp] Avengers: Coulson [/sp]
[sp] Iron Man 3: Pepper [/sp]
[sp] THOR 2: Loki [/sp]
[sp] The Winter Soldier: Nick Fury [/sp]
Spider-Man 3 all over again with "too many villains". Even though that certainly didn't turn out to be the case
my god i've already told you exactly why it'd have been much better without [sp]harry's goblin[/sp] and all you can say is "uh but i dont think so"
[sp] Iron Man 3: Pepper [/sp]
[sp] THOR 2: Loki [/sp]
If you really believed these two, especially the latter one [sp](which was shown to be a lie, like, five minutes later)[/sp], then I'm sorry.

I know I'm guilty for the Loki one, went unexpected
They've done it a lot more than that.

[sp] Captain America: Bucky Barnes [/sp]

I seriously don't think this example should be part of the discussion because it's comic book cannon, not a director's theatrical choice to 'fake death' a character.

Yeah, I suppose.
Without that "temporary death" we wouldn't have
The Winter Soldier

[sp]Pepper? Are you serious? That one was revealed in like, 5 minutes and it was so, so obvious???[/sp]
should i watch this movie
should i watch this movie
if you're a big fan of the raimi trilogy (or good movies in general), no
if you liked the first TASM, yes

Im a big fan of the Raimi trilogy and i still enjoyed the movie.
It had problems but it was fun.
fun is definitely not the word i'd use. it had a few cool fight scenes but overall it was painfully boring
fun is definitely not the word i'd use. it had a few cool fight scenes but overall it was painfully boring
It had a story though, which was lacking in previous installments.
It had a story though, which was lacking in previous installments.
it had a bunch of stories put together, and half of them shouldn't have been there. spider-man 3 might've been crap but it at least took enough time to flesh out the characters and the subplots a bit more

The [sp]Pepper[/sp] one is actually a subtle reference to Irod Bad
Umm, I'm kinda confused.
[sp]How did Electro die? Wasn't he able to turn into pure electricity? How could he explode after getting overcharged? Like, why didn't he just stay in that pure electric form and attack Spidey that way?
And was his suit and blutooth thing also pure electricity? Because they stay on him when he changes form?
Oh, and what was Electro's motivation for hating Spiderman? Because he didn't remember his name?[/sp]
Just saw the movie like an hour ago and I didn't really understand these parts, can someone help?

[sp]When Spidey tried to help him out early on, the crowd interpreted the goings-on as the two having a fight, the people booed him and cheered for Spider-Man. Last straw in the camel's back was when the police shot at him he had assumed Spider-Man had deliberately set him up for the shot.[/sp]
Okay, but what about the other stuff?
[sp]And was his suit and blutooth thing also pure electricity? Because they stay on him when he changes form?[/sp]
I guess the directors didn't want big blue electro dick filling the shot every time he came on screen. It happens with other outfits too. It's like the hulk and his giant purple stretchy underwear that stops Hulk cock spilling out all over the place.

Why? Because it was in the script.
Don't ask an explanation for science fiction or fantasy :v:
Yeah I didn't answer the other two because they're really up to interpretation.
The Empire spoiler podcast about this film is great.
Avi Arad is a funny guy but also gives hints about future films:
[sp]-He points out that Norman Osbourne never stays dead in the comics and if they bring him back it'll be because they have a good story to tell and they'll probably link it to Oscorp science.
-He also hints at Black Cat becoming a thing in the near future.
-The Gentleman is a hint of where the story is heading. "The storm that is coming".
-Is there hope for Peter and Harry or is their friendship forever torn apart? "It's not something we're dealing with today. It hangs over the whole franchise now"
-Asked what they'll do for Spiderman 4 even though Webb and Garfield may not be onboard: "We are going to keep making Spiderman movies". They will figure out where exactly everything is heading after they've got through Venom and Sinister Six. They have no idea when either film is coming but they're moving full steam ahead
-In relation to Venom and Sinister 6: "Can a Spiderman movie work without Spiderman?" "He will always be there in spirit or as a motivation. But physically... you can have a hell of a fight amongst the Sinisters without Spiderman even looking in"[/sp]
They really talk about the film in-depth. The people working on this film clearly know the comics inside out and adore them. They way Avi talks about these characters is familiar, it's how I would talk about them as a comic book fan.
"Nobody stays dead except Uncle Ben. And even he comes back sometimes"
-One of the journalists amusing point on how death works in the Spiderman comics
[editline]15th May 2014[/editline]
"We had plans for you Peter Parker"
- It was in the trailer because the marketing company got Chris Cooper to record it specially. There was a lot deleted. The film was about 3 hours long on first assembly.
[sp]Also there's a deleted scene with Max's mum where she lays into him and even forgets his Birthday.[/sp]
Umm, I'm kinda confused.

[sp]He overloaded, it's why we spent five minutes and a shitty song watching Peter blow up Car Batteries earlier on in the film. The electro suit was so we know he's dead, and also to make him look less like Dr Manhattan.[/sp]
[sp]Also there's a deleted scene with Max's mum where she lays into him and even forgets his Birthday.[/sp]
I need this.
If they're setting up the sinister six I doubt electro is really [sp] Dead, electricity can be in the air, so he could get carried away on some current and be lead into somewhere he can regain his power. [/sp]
I can see not coming back for a 4th movie if you're getting old, but they're branching out the universe and Andrew Garfield is the direct lead of this entire series, I wouldn't leave this job unless they signed me to some harsh contract conditions.
(in example: Colton Haynes (Roy Harper) from Arrow wouldn't have gotten that job if he signed on for another season of Teen Wolf as they only wanted his character on the show for the first half of the season, after that he would still be under contract, but not be in the second half, and they had it set up to where he couldn't work on other projects during that time)
