What part of town are you in? Brooklyn sure as hell didn't get orange sky tonight.
I love that orange glow when it snows.
Fuck you Northwest for being so fucking warm while everyone else gets snow.
Fuck.

I know. I wish they would turn the streetlights to green or something during snow-days, because having a green sky would be frankly badass.
It's been like this in Vermont for me, it's pretty :3
Where you from in Vermont? I live there too, but it wasn't like that earlier.
this actually happened a couple years ago when i used to live in Louisiana. it was pretty trippy.
In Newzealnd Dunedin the day was orqange for like 4 hrs.
Another time It was blue.....
I wish it snowed more often in Britain :(
Snowclouds are really damn reflective - you can see lights from a city about 15 miles away from the reflections inside snowclouds. They act pretty much like giant optical cables, except they spread the light all around.
EDIT: I live in Britain - Scotland to be precise and we've just gotten through another bout of 5-foot snowdrifts. DO NOT WISH FOR MORE SNOW YOUNG MAN I AM SICK OF IT.
There is WAY too much snow in Latvia.

Every street, every house, everywhere!
I hate snow. >:(
The millions of snow particles in the air reflect the light from the city.
:D i am from Baltimore. does this mean we can be best friends for ever?
In winter our skies are just full of clouds most of the time, i'm used to having my room illuminated in orange at night.
It's really nothing more than clouds/snow reflecting street lights which are often yellow/orange-ish.
Nice sky color. Just grey in the sky here...But white on the ground.
Looks like that in Iceland all the time.
i love how the states is getting hammered with all this snow and up here in canada we have nothing
:smug:
I live in Baltimore, MD...I should stay up late to see this
Just thought you guys should know. Could be a discussion of pollution/light pollution, and the fact that there are no skies but just an apocalyptic-esque orange haze with snow everywhere. Also, we're due to get something like 36 inches of snow and we had 10 inches a few hours ago.

They've all been edited to approximate what it actually looks like over here, except for the last one which is edited a bit to look prettier, but still isn't that much more extreme than it actually looks here.

Looks like the sandstorms we get here in Saudi . . . except . . . you guys have . . . snow . . . . :smithicide:
At least when you look outside, you don't go blind from looking at undisturbed snow.
It was like that when it was snowing in the UK, I'm not 100% sure but I thing it's because the snow reflects light very well, therefore lighting up the sky a considerable amount, due to reflected streetlights and stuff. It's quite cool how well snow can reflect light, when it was snowing we stayed out long after dark (it got dark at about 4pm anyway) and it was still easy to see everything.
