You should definitely have brass on the bottom for airsoft, as it makes it much easier to grab and load them. Real steel rules don't apply here.
I'm gonna do some shooting right now and see what works best for me.
Having them facing down would make sense if you were breech loading it, but you're not. Having the shells pointed upwards just makes it so there's less movement you have to do to load it. It's just pull down, then push up and tilt into the the gun.
Just a side note, your shells are in the saddle the wrong way :v: The bottom of the shell goes at the bottom of the saddle
There is no right way. Technically, they -want- you to do it that way because elastic gets weak after awhile and if the bottom of the shells were facing the bottom they may fall out while he was running. Alternately people face them upwards so they can just jack the breach open and drop one in if they're in a hurry. Where as facing them downwards is more of a position you'd want them in if you had to reload the tube.
So obviously the best option is to alternate between up and down :v:

Any suggestions on how to carry shells besides a side-mounted shell card? I need to figure out a way to carry lots of shells on my SPAS project.
Any suggestions on how to carry shells besides a side-mounted shell card?
Any suggestions on how to carry shells besides a side-mounted shell card? Trust me, no other system will let you hold enough or acquire them fast enough. I have stock mounted shell carriers as well as shell pouches, and I'm not happy with either.

but look at how fast he reloads them
I can see those being fast enough, but I can't see them holding enough shells, and I'm not sure how they'd hold up to crawling and stuff. Maybe if you could make a whole molle rig of those, but then you don't have room for other stuff.
I'm starting to lean towards elastic shell pouches like this. I think two of them on a belt would do it.
that's what herf has.
Possibly my favorite shell carrying method is the Travis Haley Fagpul way. Put a strip of Velcro on the side of the shotgun and then put Velcro on backs of shell carriers. use it up pull it off then put on a new shell carrier fully loaded.

But what if I wanted to have a railed pump for a foregrip or an <aherm> AFG? How do?
But what if I wanted to have a railed pump for a foregrip or an <aherm> AFG? How do?
There are two screws on the bottom of the pump, I suppose you could find a rail to bolt in to those.

Lizards HOW TO for attacking ugly VFGs onto dumb shotgun(tm): [editline]30th June 2012[/editline] IT WORKS MAN TRY IT NOW!!! [editline]30th June 2012[/editline] plz do not steal
There are two screws on the bottom of the pump, I suppose you could find a rail to bolt in to those.
Wouldn't trust it. Those screws on the DE/UTG shotguns barely grab any threads as it is. Putting a rail on there is likely to strip the threads or crack the hole for the screws when you pump it. You could try super gluing, but it may come off. The rail I had glued on top of my M3 randomly fell off after about 4 months of use. It may come off sooner if you put it on the pump since you're apply a good amount of force to it.
once i put a shitton of duct tape on my VFG and taped it to my pump for fun thing was rock solid for months before i felt like taking it off
Front rail came in today! [img_thumb]http://sphotos.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ash4/426856_411042838942466_690788192_n.jpg[/img_thumb]
This is my Tactical Shotgun, I got back from Blacksheep so I set it up as a "Checkpoint" gun. Basically something designed to intimidate and eliminate with enough stopping power to put someone down. ACM Mossberg 500 with heatshield, shell saddle and a flashlight mount. Put the sights back on and added my old full stock. [t]http://filesmelt.com/dl/photo1011.JPG[/t] brb gonna go watch Magpul Dynamic Tactical Shotgun videos
Where can I get a full stock for a trishot?

Because. [editline]6th July 2012[/editline] It is awesome.
Good enough, was just wondering if there was another reason. Might be cool to find a way to use tri-shot shells as speedloaders.
