• A very cool cutscene in Mafia

I kinda like the openings from the MGS Games (Hell even a majority of cutscenes from each game throughout the series). Each one has their own charm to it, from the stylized comic book ones of Peace Walker, to the bond-esque intro from MGS3. The Ground Zeroes opening cutscene is by far one of the better ones IMO: It shows what the situation is after the events of PW, as well as the jeep ride kinda showing off Camp Omega and how big it actually is.
Those cutscenes are pretty impressive for a game from 2000.
This, loved the undercover feeling of this game, the music, the settings, great game from a great period!
This is why I absolutely loved the first Mafia game. The entire campaign was designed so beautifully to make it feel like you were actually part of the mob. The set pieces were phenomenal, the story, the writing, the characters, the world, vehicles, atmosphere, cinematics, everything was so beautifully crafted to form a perfect Mafia experience. Even certain missions were designed with scripted events going on in the background to make the world feel more lively, and certain missions had alternative ending cutscenes based on how you finished the final act of the mission. It's such a damn shame Mafia 2 felt so shallow compared to it's predecessor. It never felt like you did Mafia work. Sure, the gameplay was more refined than the first game but something about the original Mafia is so engaging that, to this day, I randomly boot it up just to replay it. I've must beat the game at least 6 or so times since 2002. And, back in the day, I'd start it up every day to play some of the best missions. A few that come to mind are the latter half of Better Get Used to It, The Whore, Omerta, Great Deal, Bon Apetite, Happy Birthday, and especially the Bank Heist and Finale.
I totally forgot about The Whore mission... jesus, talk about feeling Tommy's emotions and sympathizing with his ability to still be human after his transformation from your average Joe to a sociopathic murderer (I say that because at the beginning of the game he expresses to the detective that he has no remorse; he falls right into the description of a sociopath). But when he [sp]sets her free[/sp] just to have that ultimately backfire on him, it's a wonderful depiction of his truly good human nature being shat on by the situation he slowly allowed himself to pulled into. The whole game is literally a movie or a damn good book, being ran through by someone behind a mouse and keyboard. I've never experienced a game that came close to hitting me the way that Mafia did.
I've always dug the intro cutscene for Gravemind in Halo 2. Original: Anniversary:
Let's get some Blizzard up in here
It'd be a shame not to mention Universe at War's intro.
I love games that do TV show style recap cutscenes.
Alan Wake oh fucking man that game is legendary the thing I love about Alan Wake is that even though the gameplay is a little disappointing, the story is so strong that it is still one of my favorite games of all time Alan Wake is some top notch writing with so many nice details

Everyone should play it. I didn't mind gameplay though, it was really fun.
bit of an older one, but i loved this games cutscenes despite the terrible english dubbing/translation this game had. still one of my favorites
Man I'm so glad I'm not alone in loving Legend of the Dragoon. I dropped the third disc on gravel in rain years and years and years ago and the game refused to load after that. I was so close to going on to disc 4 too. The fact that I didn't get to finish it still fills me with shame. I just don't have the energy to get into it again and play it completely though.
My favourite would easily have to be the Second Dream cutscenes in Warframe (Major spoilers, don't watch if you havent done the Second Dream quest) I've been watching the game grow since the closed beta, watching the lore continue to get expanded. But this was the biggest reveal yet, and personally...I don't think they could have done it any better.
Saints Row 2 had some well made cutscenes, the fight between The Boss and Maero always stuck out in my mind for some reason
This is the better version of that cutscene. Skip to 1:08:51.
i really like the wolfenstein new order's cutscenes especially this one
Imo, the bass in the background gave this game attitude
World in Conflict had some fucking great cutscenes for an RTS [editline]20th March 2016[/editline]
I am still so goddamn mad that there hasn't been a sequel. Those games were amazing!
Killzone 2 had a very fucking awesome introduction.

That was incredible! Got any more? Why did the initial invasion fail so badly?
Although the intro for the second one was awesome; the speech and introduction from the first one is still the best in the entire series: Still gives me the chills. [editline]21st March 2016[/editline]
World in Conflict had some fucking great cutscenes for an RTS -more amazing WiC-
No New York cutscene? This was absolutely amazing when I first saw it. And by extension the Soviet Assault Trailer:
The Brothers in Arms series are one of the best games that perfectly captured the feeling of a Hollywood WW2 film ala Saving Private Ryan/Band of Brothers.
