I have a question for the furries of Facepunch. We've all heard the argument that the furry fandom doesn't revolve around an anthro fetish, but if this is true, what other reason would you have to assign yourself an animal "fursona" and join furry communities?
There has to some underlying reason for the fandom, and I can't see any other reasons than obsession or sexual attraction. If it is just a fetish, why not just draw the stuff and do nothing more? There must be something to justify the community, because a fetish certainly doesn't.

I can't speak for everyone, remember that. I just like anthropomorphized animals. Dunno why. Kinda always did. I guess years of growing up with Looney Toons, Scooby Doo, and Sonic the Hedgehog will do that to a person. I never understood the whole community and stuffs, it really confuses me.
For moi it is just a fetish nothing more. I find the fursona's and stuff a bit weird as well but I can understand it. It's just when people refer to themselves as animals and do crazy stuff like *waves paw*. IT'S A FREAKIN' HAND.
