H3H3 is still a really good channel. They're different to how they used to be but there's justifiable reasons and I think people's hatred for them now has more to do with them having rose tinted goggles on.
They're still the same people with the same personalities and the same sense of humor, just a different format and a larger audience. And it wasn't that long ago that it was on ethan and hila and everyone kept going on about how they actually liked that more and why isn't this on the main channel.
What the fuck? No its not, its a single capitalized word, and its not random, its highlighting what part of youtube its from and reinforces something they've gone over in a previous video.
I think we'll just have to agree to disagree then because it still feels pretty clickbaity after you say that

I think they ride the line between clickbait and not clickbait a lot. I think clickbait has to be a little bit more deceptive or misrepresentative than their videos are. Their titles are more obnoxious than they are clickbait.
THAT SAID, people care waaaaaaaaaaaaaay too fucking much about this kinda thing. Yeah, the titles are bad, but the videos are still good so why's it gotta be such a big issue? Reminds me of how FP goes in to meltdown whenever Caddicarus is posted because they can't get past his thumbnails and hair.

I mean, that's perfectly valid. All I was saying is that it felt clickbaity to me which was ironic considering the mention of clickbait. Didn't really think it'd be that offensive.
i thought this video was better than the usual videos
there's a difference between attention grabbing/interesting titles and clickbait titles. this title just reads like ethan's voice and sure enough, the video is about a shitty video on the trending tab as promised
clickbait is when it's purposefully misleading: putting in 'epic prank GONE VIOLENT' when she lightly slaps him on the shoulder and it's a fake prank with horrible acting
h3h3 isnt worse it just evolved into different content.
i find it okay but i wish they would do more stuff like the vape nation vid or the 90s boy band shit

it's more or less that the content has been en masse. but if you think about it, those great videos came out around the same time the current greats come out too. it's just that a lot of it is i guess cluttered with the hila and ethan-esque stuff, so you percieve less of those greats.

What're the great videos in the last 5 months? This one?

Only, like, 4 videos out of 50 have been something other than Ethan in a chair with no editing except a meme cutaway. It's understandable if he doesn't have enough time between videos to go outside, or wear a costume or something (without it being a paid promotion for a movie), and it's understandable not to like those videos.
I don't know what all these youtubers are talking about I use the subscription button on the left every day and haven't noticed any of my subscribed channels missing or whatever
It's because people are using the home page like morons.
I like Ethan and hope the channel rebounds, but you're in denial if you're trying to say nothing's changed. Even Ethan acknowledged that, he can't go after individual people or videos anymore because his fanbase is so big it'd be like sending a witch hunt. And if you don't post videos often enough, apparently you get knocked down the sub list... and under 10 minutes = not as much revenue.
So it has to be a long video every few days on a safe subject, meaning that anything except sitting there and talking about late news with a few memes is impractical to make. I understand why it's like this, but nobody's in the wrong for not wanting to watch that.
Doesn't a lot of this fall more into greed territory though? I mean I don't blame them wanting to go for the big bucks, but they were making $3000 a month on patron and that wasn't even including their existing YT revenue and the fact that their videos still get widely shared on community websites. I wouldn't really buy an argument of 'oh but its just the Youtube game every big channel needs to play or they get punished hard by the system' because at the end of the day quality content will still get a lot of views on a big channel, maybe not as much as following a formula that will maximize revenue, but patreon also can make up a portion of that.
I'm only a casual watcher so I don't know a lot about their situation though.

$36000 - taxable income (the baseline you'd get from patreon) is hardly enough to sustain a married couple living in california, initially new york. so they have to pull the shitty strings in order to maintain themselves, but it just goes to show how shitty their situation is and i think it also, i dunno, pulls the veil on clickbaity-ness and gives people a bit of a paradigm shift (going in expecting their average clickbait shit but actually coming out learning more about how youtube is gaming the system and how everyone else has to play ball too to survive.) youtube doesn't give you shit anymore for your videos, but anything's better than just that baseline for their situation. you might see it as greed but it's really just a normal state of affairs for youtube.

itt: people angry that a comedy youtube channel is using their newfound fame and excessively wide range to affect changes in a flawed system
could you fucks find anything less pathetic to bitch about? jesus christ lmao. you don't have to be a cook to know when food tastes good or bad. unfortunately, the fanbase for your former favorite youtube channel grew excessively large. this is what happens when your following transcends itself. same thing happened to Howard Stern and his show on Sirius.

Considering the people bitching in this thread evidently didnt watch the video and assumed it was another Youtube complaint when its traditional H3H3 reaction material, he's got a point.
