Here's my bit, a cat that's the same breed as That Cat. Has a cat tag in shape of FP logo. Any characters referring to said cat, simply call it, that cat.

No box hat, round logo since most tags would be round. And that's all it should be. Limit FP references to a minimum.

That Cat with FP logo collar is really nice idea. I'll always prefer simple, ordinary designs over complex monstrosities.

Without the box on it's head it's just a cat, the box makes it a character.

I like the box cat idea but I don't think it's unique enough for a character.

Maybe so that the cat can barely see beneath the box, something like Soldier and his helmet.

The box covering the head somewhat is nice, it can even be mixed up either as a hat, as Combine 177 says, or completely covering and maybe with some eye holes. That kind of versatility in design is nice, means you can even have references to [url=http://i.imgur.com/kqtg5ty.jpg]this[/url]. I kinda like covering it's face, because we all know what happens if you post that cat's face.

Definitely digging that cat. It'll make us look less like tryhards who just want to copy /v/'s character to get attention and more like people who bring something new and original to the table.

Also I see no reason for a strawpoll for future votes unless there's more than 12 options. Voting with ratings is fine and it also helps verify that the voters are Facepunchers and not outsiders or someone voting multiple times. Because she is a girl? Because she's on the same game as the other girl? I don't know how the game's story will go, but I'm sure it's easier to include another human than a talking cat. I feel the opposite about it, we're trying too hard to not look like /v/'s, to not look as tryhards.

Most pets have collars on at all time anyway, and it's the main way people have to distinguish them. Messing with the fur would detract from the original "that cat" reference, and it would quickly delve into Deviantart furry territory anyway.

They didn't make Vivian because they were told to make a girl, they decided that was going to be their character based off the event. It was something new, /v/'s daughter, and the simplicity of it just being a girl who likes video games was the charm. Then Reddit decided to make their own girl and it seemed kinda disingenuous, because they didn't decide to make a character and ended with that, they decided they were making their own girl to rival /v/'s, and in doing so turned Vivian more into the representative of /v/ than an everyman. I'm not sure if they got the funding, but it seems like FP is trying to do the same. That's why I like the cat. It doesn't assume on Vivian, it complements Vivian pretty well in having a cat around, and it seems like something Facepunch would come up with independently of the whole affair.
