I recommend you move to Texas, I heard there really accepting and friendly.
Here's an idea:
You are still young and have plenty of life left, get a job and save money up. When you're 18 or so come take a trip to america and experience it first hand, if you like it well then start saving all your money up and settle down in the states.
This.
You have at least three years to save up and plan for a roundtrip plane ride. I guarantee you'll hate California, so I'd land in one of the east coast states, stay there for a while maybe a month or even a few. Try and get a part time job as soon as you settle in. Be careful though, the way our nat'l economy is going it might be in worse condition then. You'll have to rent out an apartment, pay for food, rent a car, and money for extra needs. my point is that there are so many big factors if you are coming here alone. You will need to save at least $5,000 if your going to stay here for a while and maybe more if you decide to permanently move here.

I see what you mean.
Well, thanks for all the advice. Who knows, maybe one day I'll move to the US, maybe not. Let's just see where life takes me.
Only move here if you have a college degree. If you do, you should be set to get a much larger house than what you can find for the same price in pretty much any other country. And things are generally just cheaper in the states. I moved to England a few years ago and then came back, and I would much rather live in the states.
If you don't get a college degree before coming here, expect to be flipping burgers. That is if they let you in.
I suggest moving down to Austin, Texas. Its where i live. Its beautiful.
Move to the UK. It's what cool people do :wotwot:
Wet, rainy, boring UK? Nahh, I'm here right now, and lemme tell ya: Not the highlight of my life.

We don't like your kind of people here.
I'm American, But I really do not like red-necks.
But I really also hate these people here going: AMERICA SUCKS. A LOAD OF BULLSHIT.
And the: "Every single American person in the world is fat." stereo-type.
Come to the east coast, everything good about the USA is on this side, great beaches in Florida, great Mountains in the Appalachians, a lot of history up and down the coast, all of which is at the most a 2-3 day drive. Then again, The West Coast is really nice too. Really great place to live for the most part as long as you don't get too wrapped around politics. Hell, most of the people who hear saying "AMerikkka SUX!11" are the people who have never spent more than a month here.
dont do it , as soon as you become a naturalized citizen you become obese its the law
I don't see the problem, it's just a song.
Because everytime i hear this song, it's either an over nationalistic "AMERIKA SHITS ALLOVUR EVRY COUNTRY! USA USA USA!" type of person, or its making fun of an over nationalistic "AMERIKA SHITS ALLOVUR EVRY COUNTRY! USA USA USA!" type of person.
dont do it , as soon as you become a naturalized citizen you become obese its the law
Thats a stereotype. Ive been a proud American since i was born. And im at a healthy weight.
Thats a stereotype. Ive been a proud American since i was born. And im at a healthy weight.
I'm underweight, BEAT THAT :smug:
Thats a stereotype. Ive been a proud American since i was born. And im at a healthy weight.
He's just failing at trying to be funny.
Come to New York, the people are real nice there.
They especially love it if you honk your car's horn constantly.
Wait a few years, get some marketable skills, and then decide.
Why the would you leave Sweden to go to the US? Sweden sounds alot better to me.
Thats a stereotype. Ive been a proud American since i was born. And im at a healthy weight.
Same here, As I said above, the stereotype is only because of what has been exposed to the media, apparently if the UK was as big as the US, It would be around four times over America's obesity rate.
Well at least if you ever do move here OP, you could always get a job at IKEA.
Actually, you'd probably be immediately promoted to manager there.

Hehe, I'm from NY, And I think it's the best place for outings, it's also quite easy to get a good job.
I understand what you feel OP, I'm in a bit similiar situation. I hope one day either our dreams will come true or we will have a change of heart.
Aparently, if you don't get citizenship you have to pay double taxes. Only thing keeping me going to the US for studies.
I semi share your dream. I dream to one day move to Canada and start a business there and raise a family.
I would wait a few years until the job market gets better. It's hard enough for people who lived here all their lives to get a job.
Move to Hawaii.
Either come here to study first, or get a profession in a technical field. Both of those help getting citizenship, I think. Also, stay to the coastal states, we're much better than the central ones. New England in particular.
socialistic piece of crap government
I understand that you are 15 years. The government of Sweden isn't socialist, it's a bourgeois coalition between liberal and conservative parties.
America is just as good/bad as any other country. It has its pluses and minuses, it's better than Sweden in some respects and worse in others. I'd just like to advise you to make your decision very carefully, because this would be a life changing decision.
Move to Hawaii.
wasn't there once a thread in gd by a guy who lived in hawaii and pretty much told us it's a shit place to live?
I recommend you move to Texas, I heard there really accepting and friendly.
No silly, that's Alabama.
But on a more serious note, why the hell would you want to move to a country with a lower standard of living?
wasn't there once a thread in gd by a guy who lived in hawaii and pretty much told us it's a shit place to live?
It's probably the worst state to live in actually, living there is incredibly expensive, taxes are high and the way of life over there sucks.
Dont move to the US.
- Government is fucked up.
- Hope you like stupid laws
- Political Correctness
- We are Small Mexico & Somalia
- You need to know Spanish.
- Something of yours WILL BE STOLEN
- "Free" doesnt mean free; it means Tax's
- about 10% of us are unemployed.
- You are just another statistic.
