You forgot Alaska which is about 2/5ths to 2/4ths of America.
Officially, its America, there are more Russians than any other though. And they don't really wanna learn English.
I honestly really admire the patriotism from a foreigner, hell it beats most of the people I know in the U.S. as far as honoring the country goes. I live in Pennsylvania, where I live is actually quite calm in it and I think lots of places in it are fairly comfortable. Plus there's fucking Knoebels and Kennywood. I haven't been to Kennywood but I've been to Knoebels, really good amusement park, no admission fee, tons of good food there, lots of great rides like the Phoenix and the Twister, and it has a huge pool that's normally quite fun to swim in. Plus there's tons of historical landmarks and attractions like that all over, especially since much of the country's political development was done here. I highly recommend it. I also remember loving Long Island when I was there for a bit, but that's one of the places you gotta be more careful at, stuff around New York can be kinda harsh if you aren't prepared.
I bet you want to move to the states just because of the big american teetees
No one should ever move here, especially from Sweden. Forget all the stereotypes you've heard and just read up on the laws, justice system, drug violations, gang activity and all that mess. I know that isn't the majority of America but it is pretty fucking bad here, and i dream of swapping places with you every day.
Are you saying 9/11 is some collateral damage, I'm confused on what your stating?
No. Wikileaks uncovered a video among others very similar in which a helicopter crew did not hold a missile launch just for a few seconds longer for an unarmed civilian to pass who was walking along the edge of the street right next to the building the helicopter was ordered to fire on. Also another helicopter was firing on a speeding vehicle which stopped, pulled over and the driver got out and put his hands up, he was unarmed, the helicopter crew shot him down with the cannons. Also a van driver who had two clearly visible kids in his car stopped to help a wounded man, apparently a terrorist suspect. The helicopter crew killed both men and shred the van into pieces with the cannons and assumed that they had killed the children too by stating "Their own fault bringing kids into battle" "Damn right". All videos recorded from american attack helicopters with infrared cameras crew radio chatter included. Edit: These videos were also in a documentary some time back, I wonder if they even let it be aired in USA.

As horrible as war crimes may be, it's not like it's the first time it has happened. It's not like US soldiers are the only ones to commit war crimes, nor is the war in Iraq the only place it has happened in. I'm not defending the heartless bastards that did this, but you can't really judge an entire nation because of it.
Wet, rainy, boring UK? Nahh, I'm here right now, and lemme tell ya: Not the highlight of my life. [editline]2nd February 2011[/editline] I'm American, But I really do not like red-necks. But I really also hate these people here going: AMERICA SUCKS. A LOAD OF BULLSHIT. And the: "Every single American person in the world is fat." stereo-type.
And the stereo type britain that is wet and rainy. And the stereo type the everyone is britain are posh.
One thing you have to remember though is that getting an immigrant visa is not going to be easy. Your best bet by far is to marry an American. Failing that, I guess you could enter the Diversity Lottery once you are 18. There are employment visas, yes, but if you're referring to the permanent ones well, anyone who has one will tell you how difficult it can be to obtain one and then later transfer to a green card. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/H1B That page sums up the H1B employment visa nicely. There are others, but that is probably one of the most popular ones, and yeah, unless you have some pretty extraordinary skills it's likely that your employer won't bother to choose you over someone who is already in the US.
But you can't really judge an entire nation because of it. You never can judge an entire nation. Many people just don't understand that.
Gandhi once said "I like your christ but I hate your christians". That's how I feel about this country. America is fine, but Americans are ignorant, arrogant pricks.
I like when people say all Americans are ignorant because it's just so ironic :irony:

The thing I like best about being the the US is probably we have a lot of diversity. If i want warmth all year I'll move south or if i want seasonal changes I'll go north, there's hollywood, big cities and country land. Not that I've ever lived outside of Michigan. :v:
Don't come here. I don't know if this is only where I live, but the real thing that pisses me off is the apathy. Americans don't give a shit about anyone or anywhere else. And the government can be full of shit at times.
[img_thumb]http://ispymullet.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/05/redneck-mullet-no-shirt-leaning-on-truck.jpg[/img_thumb] We don't like your kind of people here.
I know a guy trying to grow a mullet like that, minus the shaved sides. funny thing the guy in the picture is probably from finland or something
I like when people say all Americans are ignorant because it's just so ironic :irony:
By saying that's ironic you admit that both Tokii and all Americans are ignorant.
I'm underweight, BEAT THAT :smug:
I'm about 10 or so pounds from looking anorexic. GET TO MY LEVEL. :smug:
Well hello, fellow Fredericktonian! See now there's two of us here so you have to come
Hell yeah. Spring Ridge, Frederick, MD represent :frogc00l:
The healthcare is actually the best in the world here, we're not like Europe, we have real health care, not socialized health care.
America isn't too great, but I at least respect it and show patriotism. One thing I can's stand is when people who are born here don't show it respect.
At Least in America you still have the ability to become somewhat successful? I was thinking of moving there one day because the social class barriers of Britain are a burden.
America isn't too great, but I at least respect it and show patriotism. One thing I can's stand is when people who are born here don't show it respect.
You just have to remember that 90% of the people saying "I live in America and I hate it" are all 12 years olds.
America is a shit country, but it really depends on where you live.
If you do move to the USA, come to Austin, the sexiest and fourth largest city in Texas. Don't think about San Antonio, they just wish they were as awesome as we are.
San Antonio represent' !
Move to BC, its beautiful. Also good for camping which is also fun :P
I really wouldn't move here, if I were you. This country isn't all we crack it out to be.
I went for a holiday to the eastern states for a few weeks. I honestly met some of the nicest people I had ever met, everyone wanted to talk to you, were you where from, they loved talking about their history, especially in places like Pennsylvania and Virginia. There are some awesome people there. [editline]5th February 2011[/editline] i live in australia btw
America is a shit country, but it really depends on where you live.
We have fifty different states... Fifty. You know what that means? Fifty differnt types of culture, and fifty differnt types of places to live... If you don't like all the fifty types of places you have more then enough free will to settle down in an area you like, and make your own community from it.
By the way, DO NOT move to Mississippi. Ever.
I live in Sweden and I'm considering studying film in California. Good idea? I have family there and I've been there once.
IMHO, OP shouldn't move away from Sweden. It's a pretty good place to live. First of all, if you want to live safe, think what bad things have happened in Sweden and compare them to all the disasters what have happened in America. Secondly, you have three times better chances to get a good job in Sweden than in America (if you don't have relations there, of course). Thirdly, health care.
