Someone Replace the Helmets with kittens, and the guns with children...
Ever tried to throw a helmet at someone? It's heavy and awkward. He would've done more damage if he ran up and beat him with it. Helmet fight would have been much more awesome.

Apart from the fact by the time he got up to the other soldier he would have been shot.

The poor schmuck didn't know to give up or shoot him.
^Breaking my automerge :(
Also I thought this was the other helmet scene, at the start, when a bullet ricochets off a guys helmet, he takes it off then gets shot in the head.
This is why I think Band of Brothers has more realistic combat scenes than Saving Private Ryan. It is pretty funny though.
Funny you should say that. I remember seeing a video of actual warfare where they did this.
Wait, why the hell did they threw helmets at each other in the first place?

The American had to either reload or cock his Garand, and the German dude's MP40 was either jammed or he was just too lazy...

Uh, a garand can't be cocked. And he'd know if he had to reload because of the ping.
Completely unrelated, [sp]why'd that group of German's surrender to the one guy at the end? If I recall correctly, he had a garand, they had automatics. [/sp]
At this point I would like to point out that the weapon the American was carrying is actually a M1 Carbine and not an Garand.

Weren't they all carrying the Kar98k? The coward prick popped up behind them and shot that German guy they encountered earlier.

He was a translator, he made it pretty clear he wasn't a killer before they took him onboard.
Also they didn't shoot him because he took them by suprise, if they'dve raised their weapons he'd have just shot them..

He was still trained, and it's not like all the shit he saw that week didn't affect him at all.
