Are those tanks I see next to the crawler? I don't suppose firing at them would make them explode, would they? (I hope you can see where I'm going with this :P)

Make idle chitchat with David while you continue to shoot at it/shoot at the tanks (because I don't think he'll go down too easily from bullets). I could be wrong, but I don't think Rovar put those there just for decoration.

Hint - "Tanks next to the crawler": They seem to be air compressed tanks. A couple of them are full.
I'm not sure it's dead. All I can tell from the update is that we hit it. As far as we know, it could have 5000 hp. I'm not going to believe it's dead until it goes down, and even then it might still be alive. ...But if we destroy the tanks, they could blow up the crawler's body. Even if it lived through that, a zombie head on it's own isn't really a threat.
Pick up one of the cans and toss it at the zombie to see if it is still alive. If it is dead, which it probably is, work on getting the door open.
Tell David, "I'm sure other zombies can crawl too. How does that make this zombie special. I can crawl too, does that make me special?"

Rovar, you shouldn't use gas tanks. You need to use bright red barrels of explosives so its more obvious. There needs to be a yellow arrow pointing at them labeled "shoot this".
Try to open the door, if it won't open shoot the lock.
"Screw Steve and Sarah! We have to kill this zombie to save the world!" But since David's going to make a stink about that, just forget saying that and simply open the door. Be sure to keep your guard up as you approach the crawler.

Try the door, if that doesn't work, line your head up with one of the tanks and put a round through your head, killing you and hitting a tank.

Blow the lock off with your riot shotgun. and in real life that is true --------------------- and after you shoot the lock off equip the rusty d29 ------------------------ try to find another door? -------------------------------------- But when you step in make shure you don't step in the gooey mess, could lose a foot. But before you gooify the door knock so that you don't lose your one shot knowing our luck steve is on the other side.
