those smelly hipsters sure look like they are stickin it to the man...
Every time I open up a thread like this my faith in humanity dies On the one hand, real protest is by definition putting yourself in harm's way. FP always immediately landslides in favor of authority. On the other hand, protesters pretty much always behave and project their cause like retards.
lol this thread. Justifying people getting run over, stay classy.
lol this thread. Justifying people getting run over, stay classy.
Verses what, justifying someone else dying because the police couldn't get to the scene of a real emergency in time? Oh but that's okay, they had to stop and let the pieceful protesters stand directly in front of their vehicle! after all, that's their right!
lol this thread. Justifying people getting run over, stay classy.
Actually what I found funny about this thread is how people are trying to side with the protesters for not getting out of the way of a slow moving van with flashing lights and a siren. Seriously, he didn't plow through the group and anybody who didn't get out of the way was either extremely stupid or had no perception of what was going on around them. [editline]22nd May 2012[/editline] I mean you even see some of the dipshits grab onto the side of the vehicle in an attempt to stop it or something. I don't really see why anybody would get upset over the driver when he was clearly giving them enough time and warning to get out of the way.
Never heard so many people scream Medic since I last played Team Fortress 2.

Running people over for what might be an emergency is fucking stupid. Im still surprised you're encouraging running over protesters. You are fucked in the head bro.
I'm starting to really loath most protesters. I don't know if i just have bad luck with watching videos of protesters from both the protesters themselves and news outlets, but it seems like almost every video i watch just makes me want to punch one in the face and ask them "what the fuck are you accomplishing by being annoying and whiny?" I understand the power that protesting can have if done right, but it seems like the vast majority are doing it wrong and just getting in the way of everyone and then scream brutality whenever someone does something against them.
That's what happens when your medic team is a bunch of art school hipsters. At least, that's exactly what it looks like. They definitely didn't look like med school kids.
That's what happens when your medic team is a bunch of art school hipsters.
that's a really pointless/irrelevant comment. unless somehow looking like an art school hipster relates to your medical abilities or the reasoning for the van to drive through.
From the title I expect them to ram the crowd at a decent speed. As it was, it looked more like they were attempting to get trough and with sirens.
Plow: "To move or progress with driving force"

FP is landslide in favor of the protestors with like 10% or 15% siding with authority. In this case you move when car is driving through the street and you back the fuck off when someone is hurt and they need to get to them. Considering how much trouble moving people so they could get medics to that guy was, is it surprising the van couldn't get them to move?
I can't believe some of you are actually siding with the police on this one. Saying that they "deserved it" just because they were in the way. The people in front did get out of the way but others more deep into the crowd don't have a lot of moveability or couldn't see the van coming, there are a lot of things you have to take into consideration when you plan to drive a car that fast through a crowd. Secondly unless there is an emergency I don't see why there is a necessity to drive through a bunch of people just to cause some crowd dispersion.
Do you have any idea how loud police sirens are? Pretty damn loud. If you couldn't hear that coming that's your fault.

I saw a guy standing in front of the van with a huge grin sliding on his shoes.
Those self proclaimmed "medics" are a fucking joke, makes me sick that they are allowed to wear the SoL and red cross in the US.
Those self proclaimmed "medics" are a fucking joke, makes me sick that they are allowed to wear the SoL and red cross in the US.
How do you know they don't have any experience in medical stuff?
It's like that gif where protesters literally dive under a van, expecting the driver to see them, and get run over.

They are not packed in the street like sardines, there is plenty of room and time to get out the way and if you cant hear the sirens you literally must be deaf. [editline]23rd May 2012[/editline] Also if you notice there is a group of protesters literally hanging onto the front of the van trying to stop it.

People who stand in the street just to be "defiant" for a cause they aren't even sure what it is.... deserve to be run over. This isn't Tiananmen Square.
Isn't getting in people's way and preventing normal activity kind of necessary for the success of non-violent protest though?
So is having a clear goal or message. These NATO protests are taking the direction of the occupy protests: Everyone wants something different and they're all trying to scream louder than the other. [editline]23rd May 2012[/editline]
that's your problem, not the protesters problem.
When they're doing absolutely nothing to attain their cause other then being defiant on a street corner causing more harm than good: No, no it's not my problem.

That's the worst organized protest I've seen in a while, there were medics all around but none of them really knew what the fuck to do.
Love how the "medics" are just people with red duct tape stuck on their backs "No it's cool bro, I got a red cross, see? That means I'm fully qualified to deal with that person who just got run over." And as for the guy who got hit, how dumb do you have to be to be hit by a truck going 5 miles per hour, with flashing lights and a blaring siren going off
STAND BACK SO I CAN GET MY SHOT, STAND BACK SO I CAN GET MY SH- I MEAN FOR THE MEDICS, YEAH!
I'm kind of happy that people are protesting, it's our right to be able to do that, so nothing against them doing that. But alot of these protestors have let it get to their head, they think they're going to prove their point by putting on a shiteating grin, thinking "Oh, they can hurt me, i'll sue! This'll make 'em notice us, by stopping aid to people who need it!" I don't feel sorry for the people who got hit by the van.
Rule number 1 of driving is that pedestrians ALWAYS have the right of way. You never drive through a crowd of people like that unless your life is in danger.
they're the fucking ambulance i'd rather push 30 of these shitshows out of the way with the van to be able to save 1 life than wait for them to protest in front of me and have that one person die
That van was no ambulance, but it could very well be going somewhere important.
