Swatches are always a good way to go.

My current watch, very simple, but it looks pretty damn classy. Goes for around 80-90 USD

Why thank you. I highly recommend it actually.
Easy to read, very durable, awesome looking, only problem is that you can't get it in a large amount of water.
just stumbled upon this bad boy. duel second hands ftw.

1st and last are the best looking in my opinion. I'd probably say the 1st.
i'd go with the last one, i wouldn't be able to live witouth a date on my watch, and the discs look pretty stylin' like this. also it doesn't look so overwhelming like the other two watches. this isn't always a bad thing, but for a watch you're gonna wear a lot you'd want it to be easy to read don't you?
That's my main concern with the first two, it looks like the hands would blend in too much with the clockwork.
That's my main concern with the first two, it looks like the hands would blend in too much with the clockwork.
they would, good for looking sophisticated, but not so practical
trying to read those while it's dark around you would be a hell.

I have one. Mines black though, it was cheap(1£ or so) and it looks kinda unique.
My diesel fake just came in the mail. Will post pics soon.

This thing's practically a pocket watch on a strap.
I own a Stuhrling Automatic. Nice watch. Mine just fucking broke out of the blue one day, though. It was only about $100, though, so you get what you pay for I guess.
Where do I get one and how much does it cost
SNZG05K1/J1(Japan). I bought mine on Ebay, don't remember for how much tho. The series is a Seiko 5 Sports (1. Automatic, 2. Water resistant, 3. Shock resistant, 4. Date, 5. Day), so look around as there are tons of different styles to choose from. I personally choose mine because of the full red seconds hand.
I get +/- 2-5 seconds each day, so it's very accurate for an automatic in that price range. 6 beats per second hand sweep and two days energy reserve, so I only set time on Monday and wear throughout the week. Got this watch yesterday:

It's a pretty cool watch in person, the picture doesn't really do it justice.

Yeah, no shit? What kind? I'm looking for a watch and the ones I've narrowed it down to are all Stuhrling's.
Final showdown.

for the first.
for the second.
for the third.
The second is ugly
The first is going to be hard to tell time on
The third is classy and stylin'
So since my father is going to travel by airplane and my watch is starting to slowly die, I think it's time for a new one. Buying it on an airplane (or boat) is tax-free, which since I live in Sweden means a whopping 25% off (and that's only VAT).
Having gone through the catalogue the most appealing one I found is this one:

Which costs around 4000SEK (instead of 7000SEK) after the tax-free and such. My question is, should I go for it?
I really want one of these.

That's my main reservation with the first, otherwise I would've gone with it already. I'm diggin the mechanical Victorian vibe it's got goin on (I'm somewhat of a steampunk, sue me), but I think the only thing distinguishing the hands from the mechanics is some polish. I can't find any better pics of it to see how distinguishable they are. That, and apparently the company that makes it is somewhat hit or miss. Some people say the watch fell apart within a month, others say it's kept perfect time after three months.
Can't really find better pics of the third one, either.
Hugo Boss started his clothing company in 1924 in Metzingen, a small town south of Stuttgart, where it is still based. However, due to the economic climate in Germany at the time Boss was forced into bankruptcy. In 1931 he reached an agreement with his creditors, leaving him with 6 sewing machines to start again. The same year, he became a member of the Nazi party and a sponsoring member ("Fördernde Mitglieder") of the SS.[10] He later stated himself that he had joined the party because of their promise to end unemployment and because he felt "temporarily" withdrawn from the Evangelic church.[10] He joined the German Labour Front in 1936, the Reich Air Protection Association in 1939, the National Socialist People's Welfare in 1941.[10] His sales increased from 38,260 RM in 1932 to to over 3,300,000 RM in 1941, while his profits increased in the same period from 5,000 RM to 241,000 RM.[10] Though he claimed in a 1934/1935 advertising he had been a “supplier for Nazi uniforms since 1924”, such supplies are probable since 1928/1929 and certain since 1934, when he became an RZM-licensed (official) supplier of uniforms to the SA, SS, Hitler Youth, NSKK and other Party organizations.[10] To meet demand in later years of the war, Boss used about 30 to 40 prisoners of war and about 150 forced laborers, from the Baltic States, Belgium, France, Italy, Austria, Poland, Czechoslovakia and the former Soviet Union.[10] According to German historian Henning Kober, the company managers were “avowed nazis”, “the Boss were all great admirers of Adolf Hitler” and Hugo Boss had in 1945 in his apartment a photograph of himself with Hitler taken in the latter's Obersalzberg retreat.[11]
In a 1946 denazification judgement, based on his early party membership, his financial support of the SS and the uniforms delivered to the Nazi party even before 1933, Boss was considered both an “activist” and a “supporter and beneficiary of National Socialism”. He was stripped of his voting rights, his capacity to run a business and fined “a very heavy penalty” of 100,000 marks.[10] He died in 1948 but his business survived.
