It's surprising the uses you will have for a chronograph. Not to mention it's cool and classy.
I have about 12 watches. I can't be arsed to look them up, and at least half of them are cheapo $20 ones.
I haven't heard of Nixon though, gonna have to check them out. I got two really nice metal wristband watches, one really nice casual one, and now i need one really nice fashionable one. Nixon looks "in style".
Tempted to get self-winding skeleton watch from DX.

But it's a bit too big and clunky for my tastes.

DealExtreme watches are cheap as fuck, stay away from them, go to Target and Walmart and get at least a $30 watch

Currently fixing this baby up myself. Vintage 1960's sleek and sexy IMO.

Pretty sure Target and Walmart have cheap watches too.
I only buy things from DX if there are enough positive reviews, it seems to be a good policy.

That's not what I said, but okay
Found the picture of the watch I have.

I know, I was saying something to the contrary, saying that I don't really expect Target or Walmart to have well-built watches either.
Just IMO, I would pay for a good, decent brand watch, not a 20$ hunk of crap you get at Target to Walmart.
If you're going to spend 100$, then buy something good. Look for a gently used watch on Ebay, or try pawn shops, they sometimes carry good brand watches for cheap new or lightly used ones. (You'd be surprised, i've seen plenty of good watches at Pawn shops, Hamiltons, Bulovas. I would do research on any watch you find first though)
You'd rather spend 100$ and keep a nice watch for years and years than spend 20$ every year buying a new one because the crap one broke
the simplest watch i have is this:
[img_thumb]http://www.saltypeaks.com/catalog/images/product/p10558-NewtonDigitalSkyBlue.jpg[/img_thumb]
itʻs fairly simple, and you can play a mini game of break out on it! the only thing I sort of dislike is that itʻs a bit big
i have a couple other nixons but theyʻre not as simple
edit: also, another thing i like is its wide selection of colors. so if you donʻt like blue then theres tons of other colors to choose from
This is the one I'm looking at. But 99$ seems a bit steep for it..

maybe I'm just a cheap bastard.

bah $100 for a watch is nothing my friend
bah $100 for a watch is nothing my friend
It really is.
People spend hundreds and hundreds or even thousands on a single watch. I know a guy that dropped 50K for a Rolex right out of the fucking blue.
100$ should buy something simple and nice
Like a Newton Digital, which I'm seriously contemplating. I should be saving up for a laptop though... :v:

My watch, I've owned it for quite some time and I absolutely love it, was pretty cheap and it looks pretty good in my opinion.

like the other guys said, $100 ainʻt much for a watch. and yeah nixon is pretty "in" right now where I live, and probably in many other places as well.
also, i bought mine for $60 brand new on ebay. you can get a good deal as well if youʻre patient. but if someone asks where you got it just throw out an expensive well-known store :smug:

This one my father gave me from the late 50's early 60's. They were called dollar watches since back then they literally were 1$ runs and everything, it is a wind up so every morning i do have to wind it up but still pretty classy. You can pick up 9on for like 50 or 60$
Thread needs more skeleton watches and where to buy them.

This thing's practically a pocket watch on a strap.
I personally love invicta watches, Im sure they have one for 100 bucks or less
I love my watch, it was my only christmas present but totally worth it. $700 price tag, and the thing is incredibly oversized, but I love it and will go diving with it.

I mean, for that watch in particular, it doesn't look like something I could drop 100 dollars on.
This is the one I have, best watch I've ever had.

In my opinion, you should see it more as a long term investment if you buy a decent watch. You could see it more as something like a cell phone, although personally I think I'll buy a new cell phone sooner than I'll buy a new watch. You might think you can't really compare it to a cell phone because all it does is tell time (and date and other things if you buy a decent one), but that alone is very useful. I can't imagine how many times a day I look at my watch just to know what time it is.
Also, I feel like my watch is part of me, it's in for repairs now so I don't have it on anymore and I miss it so much. I don't know, it could just be me who is so passionate about watches.

this is my watch it cost me £125 ($200) i love it.

I can't stand fabric straps, has to be leather or metal for me.
i have this watch

it tells time really well and imo it looks nice. the only problem is some how dust gets inside of it and i have no clue how to get it out. it pisses me off
