A crowd of sheep, a biased host and 2 anti-violent game speakers versus 1 guy who keeps saying that violent games should not fall in the hands of children, which falls on deaf ears as everyone in that room seems to be ignorant. All they're focussing on is the violence in games, ignoring the context that the violence falls in. I doubt any of the anti-violent game speakers have played the games they mention. It's obvious that stupid bint hasn't played Modern Warfare 2's airport mission, where you will find out that you don't have to fire your gun at the civilians.
Yes but the young people who liked rock music are now the old people who dislike video games.
Back in those days, rock music was supposed to turn you into a rebellious teenager, with a passion for violence, sex and drugs. Look how that turned out.
Left-for-Dead-Two..
They probably have never even played a game
Modern Warfare 2 tells you when you start the game that you can skip the "No Russian" level at any time. They should really try the game before saying it's bad.
Hey guys did you know the media see video games as a children's toy Did you also hear about the SNES it's going to be 16 bit
Left-for-Dead-Two..
Computer-Illiterate people always do that :/ Also this is bullshit, you can see the expression on the cavg editor that hes just thinking *facepalm* at all the biased comments.
You couldn't have a more biased panel ever. The one guy who knows what he's talking about is shouted over by some stupid woman whose probably never played a video game before. This is the problem with people today, listen to the audience, i'm ashamed sometimes.
If you want to get this investigated, complain to Ofcom. http://www.ofcom.org.uk/complain/
If you want to get this investigated, complain to Ofcom. http://www.ofcom.org.uk/complain/
YESSSS i'm actually going to do it. it's not fair to indoctrinate the mass unwashed like this.
How does this sound, FP?
The discussion over violent video games on The Alan Titchmarsh Show* was, in my opinion, extremely biased against the man who was simply defending the current age restriction system. *Specifically, this clip: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ryH2WemACIM When July Peesgood said that violent video games were harmful to children, the host agreed right off the bat. But when Tim Ingham presented an opposing study that claimed the opposite - that there was no correlation between video game usage and behavioural and social problems in children - the audience reacted with dismay. The audience did not have any way to verify either claims' veracity at the time, so this shows that the audience was inherently biased against Tim Ingham's point of view. Furthermore, nobody listened to Tim Ingham when he said that the airport level in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 was entirely optional (you have the choice to skip it before it loads). Kelvin Mackenzie's claim about how violence in video games has been increasing over the years is incorrect. Excessive violence has been present in video games since their very early days. Just Google Image Search "doom", "street fighter" and "duke nukem 3d" and you'll see what I mean. Perhaps he is referring to how gore in video games has become more realistic over the years. While this is true, I would like to point out that the realism of violence in films has been steadily increasing in both quantity and realism over the years, albeit at a much slower pace than video games. Statistically, the average violence quantity in video games has actually decreased in recent years, if the current explosion in popularity in so-called "casual gaming" is anything to go by. Sincerely, a Concerned Citizen.
Jesus. I cannot believe that just happened. All of that guy's arguments are my arguments, pretty much. He made them simple, easy to understand, and argued politely, and the rest of the board just shouted him down, especially that bitch woman. What a futile debate.
Somebody choke that bitch in the middle. Somebody tear her fucking head off PLEASE!
Somebody choke that bitch in the middle. Somebody tear her fucking head off PLEASE!
I used to see irony when people made comments like this, now I just agree with them :eng99:
Just play one of these every time the defending guy says anything, and the interview turns into a whole new ball game.
video games don't cause violence I WANT TO KILL EVERY DUMBASS WHO THINKS THAT GOSH
Intelligent Guy: "You don't even have to play that leve- Dumb Bitch: "I AM AGAINST EVERYTHING!" *Audience cheers* How could you not rage at that part?
Basically Other guys say "But video game violence shouldn't be for kids" The guy defending video games says "They have age restrictions just like movies" Other guys say "But video game violence shouldn't be for kids" The guy defending video games says "They have age restrictions just like movies" Other guys say "But video game violence shouldn't be for kids" The guy defending video games gives up
Oh hey, I saw something I played, because I'm a dumbarse I'm going to replicate it - DIE MOTHER FUCKIN' ALIENS!
You're asking a gardener to tell you about video games, you're gonna have the wrong answers
How does this sound, FP?
Do you know what time and date this specific episode aired? Also, you've written a very good complaint there.
Shuddup, Titchmarsh. You don't know what you're talking about.
If you've got a problem with it, then just complain to Ofcom, then it gets into the news and Titchmarsh's Career is over.
someone's on her period
sexism? racism? where the hell do you get this
Haven't you ever played l4d? The smoker always goes for the girl, and it's the black guy who dies first.
I used to see irony when people made comments like this, now I just agree with them :eng99:
(Facepunch makes you violent.)
Has this become viral now? I've seen it numerous times from FP and my Steam pal's.
Recently American study world wide... what the fuck?
Do you know what time and date this specific episode aired? Also, you've written a very good complaint there.
Friday, 5 pm, ITV [editline]04:28PM[/editline] Thanks! [editline]04:28PM[/editline]
Has this become viral now? I've seen it numerous times from FP and my Steam pal's.
It was posted on /v/ numerous times.
The whole set up of the show reminded me of this scene from V for Vendetta:
Bad Parenting causes the children to be violent, not video games.
This. I hate when people said the video game is the problem of all the violence. They don't know nothing about the problem.
