This game was honestly my childhood, it got me into gaming.
All the mystery in the game just kept me coming back to play more, since there were so many little secrets and easter eggs I never really knew the full scope of the levels.
And the fact that it was pretty much open-world, and the areas were generally pretty big (especially in tooie) so it gave so much variety with scenery.
I miss the shit out of those games, and I wish I still had my N64 to play them on
Yeah Grant is great, he did made some really good tracks for Tropical Freeze.

Grant aint DKC, thats david wise.
I'm pretty sure the writers for N&B actually did. The plot is that a previously uninvolved game creator swoops in on the world and changes everything to work with his building gimmick. You can find the guy in the game and ask for the old mechanics back, but he refuses on the basis that if you had those nobody would bother with his building stuff.
The actual description for buoy building parts was "Without them, vehicle will sink like this game at retail."
I think I have found my all time most hated character in gaming history

From what I understand I don't think this is entirely true- in a recent interview, one of the Rare guys who're now at Playtonic said that Microsoft gave them "more freedom than even Nintendo did." The problem for their downfall, apparently was when the purchase was made, two of the leaders of Rare left, leaving the team in disarray and led to their downfall. It's sad, but thankfully it doesn't sound like a completely disappointing disaster like the above chan post makes it out to be.
