Yes they did. At NYCC/NYAF. Well, they called it a concert anyway.
You sure it wasn't just a screening of a recording of an actual concert? :v: Because I think they did that once, but they called it an "event".
You sure it wasn't just a screening of a recording of an actual concert? :v: Because I think they did that once, but they called it an "event".
It definitely was that. The panel list did say "Hatsune Miku Concert" though. But still. That smell....
Sadly, I agree with the kids. It's kinda stupid and pathetic to go to a concert for someone who isn't real. Also is it bad that I knew the song before they even revealed what it was?
What you said sir. It's also sad
I wouldn't really have much of an issue if they used the tech to its full capacity. From what I've seen it's just a concert you could give as an actual person replaced by a virtual one with the only fanciful and impossible things going on being used to facilitate costume changes. I dunno, if you're going to project something like this onto the stage DO SOMETHING INTERESTING. Don't just stand there.
Is this a playstation game?

They can't really do anything big and flashy.
They didn't have one at Comic Con. Also, looks like the Kids React producers are total mikufags now:
They should make a Kids React video with that video.
Its dumb going to a concert for that, but i've gotta admit the way those holograms looks is amazing, now lets put it to better use like holographic monitors and stuff like that instead of half naked anime girls jumping around a stage for fat guys

ROOYEEEEEEELLLL, Jesus, So stereotypical. Almost like ROCHELLLLLL
I think vocaloid is pretty cool. I'm not even that into anime, but I think it is neat.
I'm legitimately curious as to how they project it on the stage and as to if it really is a 3 dimensional thing (as there appear to be people on the other side of the stage).
kind of a shame that the japanese culture went from this: to... this i mean, i understand that we all have to move up from the whole "badass warriors era" but it's a bit on the larger scale with japan
Actually outside of Tokyo and other large cities you can find a lot of people who still live with the old traditions. Kind of like the Amish.
The thing I find about all this is how amazing it is. We've created a virtual Pop-Idle. It's the fact that she's not real. That there is no real singer, or that there is no one on the stage really dancing. Because of this it's sort of fascinating to see how something that isn't real has come to attract an audience all over the world.
Naian cat. What.
kind of a shame that the japanese culture went from this: Samurai to... this Hatsune Miku i mean, i understand that we all have to move up from the whole "badass warriors era" but it's a bit on the larger scale with japan
You are still comparing war time with entertainment though. Its more like this to this but yeah I realize that comparing a movie about samurai is still keeping your argument, but I find that comparing entertainment to entertainment holds a more valid point.

FreddieW is a time traveller
I'm legitimately curious as to how they project it on the stage and as to if it really is a 3 dimensional thing (as there appear to be people on the other side of the stage).
Basically what they do is project onto a piece of glass. It's not 3d for the time being, but some day soon materials will be available that send light back the direction it's projected from, allowing them to make it 3d.
kind of a shame American culture went from this: to this right guys?????? [editline]3rd October 2011[/editline] Saying that Hatsune Miku defines modern Japanese culture is like saying that Skrillex defines modern American culture
right guys??????
I know! Man, everything sucks.

"I almost can't believe it that the people are cumming to this." Right on brother.
We dropped 2 Nuclear weapons on them, then forced them too dismantle their war machine, and only allowing them too have an army for defense.
LET'S FUCKING DROP IT AGAIN GOD DAMMIT IF IT CAUSES SOMETHING LIKE THIS
They didn't have one at Comic Con.
So that means you actually went to one?
I wish I was on that show. My reaction would be along the lines of "WHAT HAS TECHNOLOGY DONE?!"
there is no real singer
Wrong. A voice actor had everything she said recorded and certain phrases so that they could make the best text-to-speech generator. The fandom behind Hatsune Miku is merely an auto tuned text-to-speech machine.
"this is destroying my mind!" i agree with you kid
