I think holographic concerts are eerily cool. I would go to one if I can.
I've heard a couple of songs by that vocaloid thing. I think one of them was called "Vegetable juice"

So that means you actually went to one?
I don't see how knowing that there wasn't one at Comic Con implies that I went to one. ...but yeah, actually, I went to the one in LA. :v: Say what you want, but I think it was pretty cool (especially for $15; that's how much the ticket was). You have to realize that it's not just the prerecorded voice and the hologram; the rest of the music is live and performed by a live band. The LA concert also had a small orchestral accompaniment. I think it was better all-around than the first couple Japanese concerts (which I didn't go to, I only saw videos). This is the one I went to: Sans terrible audio. That recording job is pitiful. It sounded great in-person. To me, the real 'cool factor' in all this isn't the fact that there's a 'fake diva' on-stage, it's the fact that all of this is the product of the Japanese internet community getting together and doing something that just completely exploded in scale. A company put character art on the box of a synthetic voice singing program. The internet took that program and that single piece of art and ran with it; indie artists from all over collaborated and made tons of great songs and great art. Now there are labels that publish those songs, commercial video games featuring those songs and the character, and concerts where live bands perform the music for thousands across the world. That's really awesome to me. Basically, just imagine if 4chan actually did something useful with their time. :v:
Well, maybe I'm exaggerating, personally, I'd never go to a concert for an anime character who doesn't really exist. Also, the bonus video is even more hilarious: [editline]2nd October 2011[/editline] I just realized the kid in the thumbnail is doing the same pose as the Ancient Aliens guy.
I can't explain what's happening therefore young aliens. Actually...anyone see the guys new hair? Its all slicked back with the grease of idiocy and aliens.
They didn't have one at Comic Con. Also, looks like the Kids React producers are total mikufags now:
I am sad now. :frown:
That's like saying movies shouldn't be considered entertainment because most movies are acting and fake and recorded with a a camera
I am a mikufag and will be one forever
That's like saying movies shouldn't be considered entertainment because most movies are acting and fake and recorded with a a camera
You people gotta realize there was a tiny child saying that. Arguing against it is kinda stupid, we all know music isn't "real" by her definition anymore
I went to a Hatsune Miku concert at Comic Con. The smell.....
you missed the mega64 panel wow [editline]4th October 2011[/editline]
kind of a shame that the japanese culture went from this: to... this i mean, i understand that we all have to move up from the whole "badass warriors era" but it's a bit on the larger scale with japan
how can you even compare military culture with POP culture lol
Virtual pop singer... Did anyone else watch this?
Virtual pop singer... Did anyone else watch this? Why the fuck would people go to concert to see someone who isn't even there and isn't even real I mean, if Stephen Hawking sang at a concert, at least he would actually be there. And he's pretty damn real. I reckon even after the Earth is invaded by aliens the japs will still be the weirdest intelligent lifeforms on this planet
Looks like someone doesn't like new and different things.
Looks like someones a pretentious weaboo Plus my comment wasn't was completely serious anyway bro
Even derogatory use of the word Japs just shows how much of tool you are. [editline]4th October 2011[/editline]
Looks like someones a pretentious weaboo
Hahaha. No. If you don't like it, why'd you come in the thread and start dumb spamming and flaming? Just because I like anime and Vocaloid music doesn't make me a weaboo. Someone who starts spamming KAWAII DESU and UGUU everywhere is more of someone your thinking of. [editline]4th October 2011[/editline] Sure looked serious to me. [editline]4th October 2011[/editline] I'm gonna stop arguing before this turns to an all out flamewar, which I saw coming from a mile away.
Oh shut up. On topic: I just wondered why people would go to a concert to see something like that when it would be nearly exactly the same just listening to or watching it on their computers, albeit minus the band. But so what, I have bands frequently playing at local pubs and clubs who are much better anyway, and it's probably the same in most places.
I quite like Vocaloid, but when it comes to people dressing up going all "KAWAII UGUU~~ MOSHI MOSHI" in real life. Thats enough. It belongs on the net, not real life.

Plus I didn't say there's anything bad with being weird. And 'jap' is just a shorter way of saying a japanese person, just like 'scot' is a shorter way of saying a scottish person

[editline]4th October 2011[/editline] Also, you didn't say it, true, you implied it.
This is true, but in context it was more derogatory than an abbreviation.
This is true, but there wasn't any need to get all butthurt [editline]4th October 2011[/editline]
Also, RobL, your opinion != fact, stop acting like it s.
At what point did I imply anything I said was fact? [editline]4th October 2011[/editline]
Also, you didn't say it, true, you implied it.
It was a lighthearted remark, a joke even, I don't know why you're getting so offended. Anyway, i'll shut up now

You're saying it as if they are better in every ones eyes and not just yours.
I love the last kid in the reaction part. He looks like Jackie Chan and his "My brain is full of fuck"

Everything aside, why do you even care that I said that? Talk about nit-picking They're just local bands Get a fucking grip

I thought this thread was about this guy. I'm not good at names.
From what I understand, the projection only really works in a small, limited space and is only visible to people who sit within a certain horizontal range of it. They can't really do anything big and flashy.
Well that sucks, but whatever makes people happy I guess. Jake is awesome.
