Ive been reading through the thread and wasnt even bothering watching any ricegum stuff and thought people were just exaggerating his nonsense because cirlejerk. I had to check out the track but i made it halfway through, it wasn't that bad sounding but just it made no sense, he made no points at all that attacked edups, he literally just kept making contradictions saying literally one thing (and it really doesnt seem ironic when he says it) then immediately the literal opposite or showing the literal opposite of what he just said.

Well he first got famous making call of duty videos while he was still in high school and he grew up in Las Vegas so I'm pretty sure he wasn't fucking starving on the streets, or having to flick pills and shit to survive. Ricegum has zero real flow, he has no fucking idea how to make something work with his speech pattern (it's like he's constantly holding his nose or some shit, supremely nasally), I don't think he actually knows how to vocalise at all as from what I've suffered through from him every single rap is just him shout-talking angrily at his mic vaguely in time with a standard beat. This is all covered up with the backing track being blasted super loud, and likely a little bit of auto-tune to bring it in line tbh. It really shows when the laughable "a capella" part comes in. Losing the backing track means any processing on the vocals would stand out super hard, and as a result it sounds fucking [I][B]awful[/B][/I].
Even with his backing track playing, it doesn't show any creativity. It's just the same 20-30 second loop repeating over and over, nothing really changes at all while it's playing until he decides to drop it for the previously mentioned garbage.
And then there's the video editing. Which just screams "try hard", flashy camera zooms and flicks, cuts out of the asshole. It's just boring to look at (fitting eh). But I expect if the camera lingered on one shot for too long you'd see how fucking awkward the dude actually is, standing around in a fucking robe trying to look hard. I have zero background in music of video and even I feel fit to critique this shitshow, holy fuck.

the rap itself is pretty trash but the fact that he actually managed to shoot and edit a semi-legit looking music video(well two minutes of one anyway) in just a couple days is kinda impressive actually.
