I wonder if this and shelter means that radroaches will actually be dangerous.
Possibly with the right leadership!
I'm not a fan of how they said "a well placed shot just might not work."
Is that telling me that skill can be nullified by an RNG?
In Fallout 3, shooting creatures or characters in certain spots (like the head of most things, the eye of a mirelurk, etc.) gave you increased damage. You never missed if you were aiming at them, but getting critical hits is luck-based.
If our lucks high enough, does that mean a leprechaun will come in mysterious stranger style and punch raiders in the balls for us?
i think its probably more like irish brawler, as in getting drunk + luck = win
not this again.
if you knew how to balance your character, morrowind was fine. this is a different situation than what SGTNAPALM or simkas are discussing
Doesn't matter, the game aged like ass and the combat system is fucking garbage.
I swung my iron saber at a dude so hard until I died.

I don't understand why people hate Morrowind's combat. I've ranted about this a million times I feel like, but its the best combat system in any Elder Scrolls game. It would be a lot more immersive if the animations felt like they had more weight to them.

Why all of this hate for dice-rolls? Dungeons and Dragons is the father of all RPGs, damnit!
When are they going to show actual gameplay?
I must be the only person who doesn't give a crap about these cartoon videos of skills that we've had and known about for more than a decade now.
For games like these you should actually not watch too much gameplay. This game is literally a shitload more fun if you just explore it all by yourself rather then you have seen it all from trailers/gameplay.
Kinda like how movie trailers can ruin entire movies

because the idea of missing a target that you physically interacted with is pretty fucking dumb, especially in a 3D open world environment.

Just because they didn't have the technology to make animations for the enemies dodging you or the blow glancing off their armor doesn't mean that they should omit the ideals of Armor Class. Just use your imagination, I do believe that is the key to immersion.
It's heavily inspired from it obviously, no need to be an ass.
Think he meant its not the Celtic's logo, its Notre Dame Fighting Irish :v:

Either you should hit where you aim, or they should just rotate the camera up 90 degrees and make you right click to auto-attack. Stat-based hit chance just defeats the purpose being a first person action ARPG

It's pretty immersion breaking when I unload 2 mags into a guy's head, and he still isn't dead because RNG.

Back then when Morrowind first came out sure.
But playing it from a perspective of 2015 when we have Skyrim, it doesn't feel good at all.

You don't even know exactly what they meant in the video! You're already coming up with hypothetical scenarios that you think will be the actual game!!!???

But I'm not talking about the video, or FO4 at all. I was replying to their post claiming it's immersion breaking if I'm not required to use my imagination.
I mean it's great if FO4 goes with a luck-based crit system, I'm against an RNG damage system, but as you said, I don't know if FO4 uses RNG or not.

Mostly likely won't, just wouldn't make sense for 2015 to have it. Especially since of course they need to market the game towards folks who aren't used to RNG gameplay like older RPGs.
Besides it's a FPS, can you really do rng in an FPS aside from crit shots?

STALKER: Clear Sky had RNG hit-reg. It was total ass, I'm not entirely sure why they put that in.
