The battles are so...empty.
I haven't seen the vids since it's loading so slow. But I've played the alpha for an hour and so I think it feels pretty filled and hectic. You're constantly in battle, and you'll always see enemies in less than 10 seconds.
The battles are so...empty.
They've never felt empty to me.
The battles are so...empty.
Doesn't look empty to me. The 3rd video was crazy and so cinematic.

Oh and if anyone wants to join the alpha. Unfortunately, I can't. :(
Why does everyone have Jetpacks? It's overdoing a feature.
I'm pretty sure it's becoming a fad, like stuff like Slow-Mo was in the mid 2000s
Ever since stuff like Titanfall and AW every big name shooter I'm seeing has a jetpack in some capacity
I like how they use wipes to transition from menu to gameplay, nice little touch
fucking christ I hate not being in this alpha
I hope the space combat is like this.

There is no space combat. That's what I really didn't like about Battlefront 2 was the lack of ships on the land maps.
Doesn't look like EA is going to get my money.

space combat was a boring mess anyway, glad to see it gone if we get better land battles

There is still a Ship Vs Ship mode. Just set in the atmosphere.

Basically. I always, always preferred the land stuff in Battlefront (and heavily preferred Battlefront 1 to 2). What I'm seeing looks and actually feels like the OT. And I absolutely LOVE the OT (I only play as Stormtroopers) so this is legitimately looking to be an amazing experience for myself.

Okay. So, I know you just found out about this, but I've seen this before. Give it a couple weeks, then look at the game, and re-evaluate your decision.
Because you're saying the same thing that everyone else did after E3. Most of us have gotten over it.

Wait? You mean the mode in Battlefront II where you took off from a large ship and you could dock in the enemy hanger and destroy key parts like the shield generator and the turret controls? I loved that shit when playing Battlefront II! That's going to be in the new Battlefront?

No, sorry I mean just a fighter only mode. There are no space battles.
If there will be a DLC for this game, it'll be space. It's probably one of the two most bitched about things I've seen on the games, and when compared to introducing Clone Wars content, I think space is the easier hurdle.
Then again, they'd have to program in landing/take off for vehicles instead of picking up a powerup.
The feel of the AI in this game really have sold it to me.
I can't really put it into words, but the way the graphics, movement of the player AND the movement of the stormtroopers really gives the game a realistic vibe.
Something I thought that only the E3 Showcase of this game would give off. Until now!
Was anyone else really bothered by the non-faction specific weapons?
The Stormtroopers running around with A280s and DH-17s (Rebel Alliance blasters) really bothered me. Dice did the same exact thing (with modern weapons) in Battlefield 3 and 4.

Seriously? Ugh I was worried about this. That's really dumb. Why did they bother making E3 look like it was Faction-specific if it's not?

Imperials used DH-17s in the movies
And some old EU stories had imperials using them
Though the A280s appear to have only been used by rebels in both the EU and movies

There were shots of Rebels using e-11s. There was probably not enough weapons In both factions to fill out their rosters.
Also it makes perfect sense. The rebels used what ever they could get their hands on. I'm sure they used e-11s as well if they were on the black market
The rebel task force on Endor used E-11s
The alpha is super fun. I was apprehensive towards the game before I got the alpha invite, but I've gotta say, my expectations have been blown away. It looks, feels and plays so good.
the floating name made me laugh so hard

that watermark would make me never play the alpha
The name is there so when people post videos of the alpha online like this time they'll either ban the person or if they feel really balls to the wall they can sue.
SW:TOR and Wildstar did similar things. Wildstar had a particularly obnoxious watermark where your name pretty much covered the whole screen iirc.

One game had the name so faint you really wouldn't notice it unless you were in a dark area. I don't remember what game. But I think it showed your email.
I remember someone accidently breaking it with an ENB config I think.
If there's one space map I want, it's the Battle of Yavin from the original film.
I just want a good Death Star battle, for crying out loud.
Those spawns look really annoying.
I like how there's a screen wipe every time you die
kind of wish space battles stuck around so that EA could improve them
really looking forward to this.
What's with the multiple announcer voices? On the Tatooine level there's Ackbar as a main announcer but then when the pod first drops there's a man's voice and then later @4:57 when the pod is threatened it's a woman's voice followed by a different man's voice? If you watch for the next minute Ackbar talks again and then another guy does (or maybe it's the same male voice but it sounded different to me). 4 different announcers within a minute? That seems distracting and inconsistent.

I've never seen a Stomtrooper with a DH-17.
Also there's never been an instance of someone using a A280 who wasn't a rebel.
